Alright, Jodie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
In addition to being a Mindfulness Educator and Integrated Life Coach, I have been a Special Education Teacher for over two decades. Through my years in education, I have come to understand the significance of creating a positive and supportive environment for my students. As Maya Angelou aptly put it, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
In my practice, whether working with groups or individual clients, I believe in fostering a partnership built on trust and empathy. It is essential for me to set aside any preconceived notions and truly listen to the needs and struggles of those I work with. I have found that most individuals already possess the knowledge and skills necessary for growth; they simply require a compassionate witness and supportive guidance along their journey.

Jodie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My Soul’s Mission is to help others live the life they want and deserve. As a seasoned educator with over two decades of experience in the Special Education field, I have had the opportunity to assist students in realizing their strengths and potential to overcome obstacles in achieving success. I firmly believe that individuals of all ages have the capacity to reach their true potential and turn their aspirations into reality. Drawing from my professional expertise and personal growth journey, I utilize a combination of transformational methods to support those who aspire to lead more fulfilling and purposeful lives.
Following the tragic loss of my close friend Kim to suicide, I sought solace in the practice of Mindfulness. By integrating the core principles of Mindfulness and meditation into my daily routine, I underwent a profound transformation in both my personal and professional spheres. It is now my mission to leverage my experiences and qualifications in Mindfulness and Integrative Life Coaching to empower others in creating the life they desire and deserve.
A few years ago, I founded Strong Roots Coaching Solutions to provide holistic health coaching services for small groups and individuals. Our approach encompasses emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Our offerings include workshops, guided meditation practices, and retreats. Additionally, I recently authored my first book, titled “Mindful Humaning: How to Stop Saying and Doing Things You Regret.” I am proud of the positive feedback I have received for my book, retreats, and workshops, as well as the encouraging emails from my blog subscribers. It is gratifying to see the positive impact my work is having on others.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
I believe that my ability to be vulnerable, and display humor has helped me in establishing connections. In my book, I am candid about the challenges I faced in managing my emotions and conduct in the past, as well as the feelings of shame that accompanied these struggles. I do not profess to be an authority on another individual’s life. It is my belief that individuals possess innate knowledge of their own needs and desires. My role is to support them in creating a safe and supportive environment to explore these aspects. I view myself as a facilitator, guiding individuals along their personal journey.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The growth of my business has been gradual and steady. The majority of my clients are acquired through referrals or from attending speaking engagements. Additionally, maintaining a blog has enabled me to foster a strong community. Building a robust email list has been instrumental in increasing my visibility.
