We recently connected with Jodee Bleu and have shared our conversation below.
Jodee , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
When I graduated from high school I was lost. I had many opportunities to go play college basketball and I got accepted to almost every college I applied to however basketball was no longer my passion. I had been playing with the same team of girls since preschool and decided to keep those memories in a vault. I went off to the University of Texas at Arlington where I found my peace. Looking for a job on campus I met one of my mentors Joey, great guy he introduced me to the game of music. He literally put me into the studio every day after class and gave me a job on campus to give me a dose of the real world. This is when I knew I wanted to be a artist.

Jodee , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For starters I’m Jodee Bleu. A name my friends cooked up in high school because they said I had an old soul like Jodeci. Mwake music a label run by my college friends gave me my start and understanding of the music industry. I had been working on my brand Macx N Hang which mean Motivate all Character Xnowledge , Honor all Never Greedy since high school. My music meets people where they currently are in life to help them understand that life if full of lessons to overcome. I would say I’m most proud of my supporters they give me the fuel needed to keep pursuing music. I want all of my supporters to know I appreciate them and we will reach the top together.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The music industry is not for the weak. I’m the type of person to showcase my talents on all platforms and that comes with a lot of people trying to mislead me. I have countless stories of having my time wasted in the pursuit of music. The simplest way to put it is just stay focus on your main goal and understand you’re an asset. Therefore when people present you with their ideas and agenda you can decipher the real from the fake.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In my honesty opinion, the music industry has changed so much. Anybody can be an artist. That’s not the problem. I find that the listener has also changed. The type of music that trends these days is all the same context. Society as a whole is lost. I just feel we need that old vibe back.
