We were lucky to catch up with Jobob Mcginney recently and have shared our conversation below.
JoBob, appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
To be honest, I didn’t wanna pursue a life on stage. I was behind the scenes doin voiceovers. It was my ex who pushed me into the spotlight. Quite literally pushed me, we were at a comedy show and we knew a couple of the comedians. She went and talked with them, got me a spot, and She pushed me out of my chair and on to the stage.
It was and is the scariest thing I’ve ever done. But that first laugh from one of my jokes and it was all over. My pursuit and trajectory was permanently altered. I was only concerned with gettin that rush again. Turns out, I should’ve listened to my woman she really did know what was best for me. Now, I don’t know if there’s anything other than drinking beer and tellin jokes that’ll get me to leave my house.

JoBob, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m originally from Oklahoma, people confuse the fact I started standup comedy in Florida with me being from there. I’m an Okie through and through. I’m a standup comedian, entertainer, and emcee. My favorite things to do are tell jokes ‘n drink beer. An added bonus is makin people have a good time and share in a laugh.
I’ve worked from sketchy back room bar shows to theaters to arenas and everywhere in between. I’ve done late night raunchy bar shows and afternoon corporate shows. (Yes, I work clean. I’ve never understood the reliance on swear words)
Another thing people get wrong is they call me a “redneck comedian”, thst ain’t exactly true, I am a comedian who is a redneck (major difference). It ain’t that confusin, but they pigeon hole me.
The most important thing to know is JoBob is gonna deliver.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
If you really wanna support the arts or artists, then make the same effort you do for Beyoncé or Taylor Swift.
Not only will it be waaaaaay cheaper for you, especially since most newer artist perform on free shows. But, you just showin up will mean the world to us. Without an audience to enjoy our art what’s the point?
Click follow on their social media, give them a like on their new post, leave a comment, share it on your story. It don’t cost you nothin and will change the algorithm in favor of that artist.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
NFT? I don’t know nothin about them. I get the idea behind it, but somethin about it seems off. Seems like a bunch a nerds lyin to the jock about how rich they are, all be it in a Minecraft like world of make believe.
But, I also don’t understand bitcoin, so what do I know? I think that NFTs and bitcoin is all the same fake internet money. Oh you own something that you can only prove with a computer and a WiFi connection? Sure.
Also, be sure to support my Onlyfans: @JoBobMcGinney Which before it become a dirty site was designed for small artist to be able to sell their art, and make actual tangible money.
