We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Joaquin Limon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Joaquin below.
Joaquin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
I believe in the music industry we are starting to see a big movement with social media, more importantly tik tok and instagram. The music industry is already saturated as is, and with peoiple becoming viral with social media, you see a lot of producers including myself starting to jump on the bandwagon a little more.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a music producer/engineer/and DJ. As a producer I make my own tracks in the style of Progressive House/Trance/Melodic Techno. from start to finish. I got into making music from just listening and being a big fan of the overall genre and the endless possibilities that can be explored within this somewhat new genre. I am currently going to Berklee College of Music to get my certificate in Electronic Music Production and Sound Design. I also work as an Audio Engineer, helping other producers mix and master tracks, as well as being in charge at Whistle Stop Bar in South Park, San Diego for all Audio stuff. Some things I am extremely proud of is being able to work with a lot of creative individuals from other local musicians to world renowned djs. Being able to talk to these people on a consistent basis, and getting feedback, constantly growing as a producer/engineer and being able to pass that down later on to more people is probably one of the best things. As far as my Mavros brand with music, personally signing a track to Anjunabeats is still my top accomplishment. They were extremely nice, and professional. Pushed the track really well and got a lot of artist support and helped me get more booking opportunities. As far as my personal job as an engineer, what sets me apart is my ability to listen to the creative and working with them to bring their vision to life. I like to believe that I am very transparent with working with them and that at the end of the day I’m giving them a service.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes! I would love to be able to tour with my music and play all over the world, learn as much as possible about my craft, hopefully getting a degree and a ton of experience and by the time I grow a little older, be able to use everything I learned to share with the new people coming into the industry selflessly. Helping them gain an insight on both business, creative, and technical side of things.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe what helped me build the small reputation I have is being a good listener, open, easy to work with professional. Nobody likes to work with someone who doesn’t listen and pays attention, that goes for both creative and engineer. Thankfully, I learned early on that the feedback I get will only help me grow, and sometimes people from the outside have a different perspective on the dilemma, or goal you are dealing with. It’s good to sometimes sit down, and think truly what the overall picture is, including feedback you get from people. Granted… I still can sometimes be stubborn if I really believe in something.
