Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joanne Menon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Joanne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
When I was living in Bath, England, I had been writing an editorial for a friend whose family was caught in Kabul, Afghanistan during the latest Taliban take-over. She was terrified. Before I began writing my piece, I tuned into both fear of BOTH sides of the conflict, the Taliban soldiers and the people of Afghanistan they were terrorizing. I imagined seeing and removing the fear of ALL people, holding them in my mind in a powerful light, seeing them in their strength, relaxing, calming down, coming to peace. I held that prayer and intention in my mind for several days.
Late one night, days later, I heard a strong voice in my head to go to my husband’s restaurant for a cup of tea. I was ready for bed! It is was 10pm! But I got dressed and went out the door. Minutes after my husband greeted me and grabbed me a pot of tea, he was introducing me to two random strangers who had popped into his place for a bite to eat. Instead of escorting them to their own table he put them with me! I was exhausted but now had no choice but to speak to two people I didn’t know.
After 45 minutes, I noticed the husband had to keep stepping away for calls. His wife apologized and said it was a work crisis. When I asked what he did for a living he said he was in charge of security for heads of state and international news organizations in KABUL. I couldn’t believe my ears. To make a long story short, he said he was able to take the names of my friend and begin the process of getting them safely past the Taliban intel and on to the last four airplanes that would be departing Kabul. He would get them visas as soon as they had arrived in which ever foreign country he could deliver them to. The following day he indeed contacted my friend to prepare them for departure. It was a genuine miracle, which is what my entire professional career is about. It was a defining moment for me, however, because I had no idea I had the mental and metaphysical power to connect people from around the world. It’s one thing to work with a single client face to face and see the change. It’s another thing entirely to connect people in Afghanistan, the UK, and the United States where my friend lived.
The story was made all the more fascinating in that this man and his wife were not supposed to be in Bath that weekend. They were supposed to be in Scotland. I was supposed to be out of town as well, but canceled my trip. Had I not heard the call for late-night team, or my husband deliver them to my table, we never would have met. It proved to me that the Unseen realms are working on our behalf BEFORE WE KNOW IT. If we listen to the call of our intuition, and trust the detours and paths we are guided to take, literally anything can happen.
Lastly, I truly think what triggered this amazing chain of events was that I did not distinguish the Taliban or my friend’s family as either “good” or “bad”. I only identified their FEAR and worked that. FEAR is universal. A deep sense of PEACE can be universal, while labeling right or wrong can be impossible when taking in to consideration people’s life experience.
From that event forward, my professional career made ME aware of my own capabilities and the depth in which we can all impact and help each other even in the most horrific of circumstances.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My career pursued me! It happened to me. It was nothing I ever planned for or expected.
After a career as a high school and university teacher, I earned a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology. Through a friend I was hired to consult a local luxury resort and spa, the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. They loved what I had to say, and they hired me full time as their on-site Spiritual & Creative Wellness Consultant. I began coaching and educating guests and corporate groups from around the world. I realized I had the capacity to help anyone, from any background, who had the willingness to work with the Unseen realms.
I’ve helped an attorney remove spiritual limitations to become a judge, a NASA scientist redirect her scientific life to a healer’s path, a breast surgeon re-evaluate their emphasis on body and incorporate the healing of the mind, and I’ve helped corporate groups recognize their biggest asset and ingenuity came from reconnecting their employees to their personal gifts, joy, and how to use work as the perfect “stage” for personal growth, which then naturally flowed into phenomenal work ethic and production.
What I want potential clients to know is that, like me, they have a direct line of communication to the Divine. They ultimately do not need me, a coach, a guru because they are their OWN best resource. Everyone has this gift, just like everyone can learn to ride a bike. Everything I do simply activates that awareness. In addition I cultivate a community of like-minded individuals who support each other as the highest levels of metaphysics and spiritual growth. When we gather for online coaching and retreats our most powerful work and healing unfolds with ease. We no longer feel alone, but inspired and enlightened by those on our path with us.

I had barely placed my divorce papers in a cold-white box outside of the local court house, ending an 8 year marriage after realizing my husband was a compulsive liar. It had already been a traumatic year of moving back to California to from the UK where I had beloved friends, a beautiful office, and I adored the city of Bath where we lived. Shortly after submitting the final paper work, an anonymous person wanted to know private details about my marriage. He had a friend who had been dating my husband and was deeply concerned about her. As it turns out, my husband had been having an affair long before I left the marriage. It was a painful and shocking realization. The pain he had caused me never seemed to end, this on top of rent I had to pay, he had drained me financially while married, and fighting to get my dogs back from him from across the world, I didn’t think I could handle any more. I didn’t need to hear this!
I spiraled into depression. How could I as a highly intuitive coach and guide be bamboozled, yet AGAIN? I was crushed, yet I heard clearly in my mind “this woman is your friend, not your enemy”.
After KNOWING I was supported by spirit and being guided, I agreed to meet his mistress online. Together we compared texts and photos and information. We untangled more and more deceptions to the point we realized we were being guided to save each other and find comfort. As we figured out the truths of what we had both been told, we began to HEAL. As it turns out, all the many times I had questioned his behaviors, I was correct all along, but had yet to TRUST myself above all else. My intuition was far more powerful than I ever knew. The guidance and ways I had been shown things were wrong, before I could comprehend what was happening, was the moment I realized I was never alone.
Since that time I have become dear friends with this women. Someone who should have been my enemy, saved my life and my sanity!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I have had to completely re-imagine my relationship with the concepts of safety and money. While I was going through the end of a marriage to a compulsive liar, I also realized I was also dealing with technological genius. I had always known that, but never thought it would be turned and used against me.
During the divorce, I realized that he could at any point in time electronically steal my investments, destroy my web presence, and sabotage my social accounts. I started mediating on what a solution could be. The answer finally came. Through a series of synchronistic events, I was lead to a several books about the intersection of money, spirituality and metaphysics.
I had to unlearn that money stashed in investments, homes, or even future retirement plans could keep me safe in the world. The reality was I had already lost all of that. Nothing had kept me safe! What I began to understand is that I am an infinite source of abundance and always provided for. It sounded like a ridiculous theory, but once I had a firm deep understanding of this concept, the spiritual realms started to move to prove it was true.
On one of my retreats, I was guided to give away a few spaces for guests teachers, thus wiping out my profits. But I felt so sure I was making the correct choice! Out of the blue, each day of the retreat several thousand dollars appeared in my bank account. My sister called to inform me that our late father had coal mine shares we never knew about and they were paying out. On another retreat, yet again, in exact timing with the start of my event, my sister called to tell me there was an old account of our father’s that she needed to close. Several more thousands into my bank! It happened yet a third time! the coal-mine shared paid out yet again, in exact timing of my events.
While it is a huge leap to have that kind of faith, what I was shown is that as I am aligned with my purpose, the spiritual realms take care of the details of my needs. Again, it takes time to get to this place of inner security, but my attachment or assumption that the outer world provides for me, has been replaced by a deep knowing that the spiritual laws of money are the reverse. When you know your value as a spiritual being, then and only then, will you feel truly safe and secure in this world, Money is simply a tool to reflect that. But a bank account of miraculous experiences has even a higher value to me!
