We were lucky to catch up with Joanna Dreiling recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Joanna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
“Someone else’s choices are not your choices, they are not your responsibility. Your responsibility are your choices.” When I said this, my client’s eyes opened and you could sense softness and openness arrive within her around feeling responsible for her family’s choices and how much it was guiding her experience. She allowed this to guide her life and it helped it blossom differently without the weight of unnecessary responsibility.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My company exists so you can actualize your dreams and truly enjoy your life. I specialize in esteem and guiding my clients in cultivating greater confidence and esteem in themselves to actualize their dreams. What sets my services apart from most coaches/consultants is that I leverage your home as a tool for your transformation. Utilizing Holistic Feng Shui, I guide you in not only creating a life that you’re obsessed with but also a home. I got into coaching because I am passionate about helping humans develop themselves so we can make this world a more thriving place for all. Utilizing feng shui in my work came to be when I desired to combine coaching with my expertise in interiors too.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I was 8 years old, I was shot in the eye with a BB gun and it left me half blind for the rest of my life. Although I was quite young, even at that age, I was determined to not allow this disability/trauma to get in my way of me living my life fully. It has molded me into a bit of a “grin-and-bear-it” people, which has its good and bad. With the loss of sight also came an adaptation to seeing with only one eye and I am so proud of my body and younger self for adapting so quickly to it.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was living nomadically back in 2018 and stationed at my mom’s for the holidays. I had several set of plans to leave for other places in the near future. After the bustle of the holiday, in a matter of a week, all of my plans ended up falling through for various reasons. When the last plan fell through, it was obvious to me that this was my sign to stay. I ended up getting a job and saving up a bunch of money while building my business.
