JoAnna, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
When it comes to having a business we always expect our family and friends to be our biggest supporters. Since, I’ve been having my business I can honestly say I’ve had some of my good friends supporting me since day 1. Word of mouth, shares, likes, or purchasing items its all support and I’m so grateful for it all.
JoAnna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For the ones who don’t know me my name is JoAnna Carraway-Dickey I’m the owner of Simply J’s Beauty Cosmetics & Accessories. I run a home based and online business, I make hand made lip Cosmetics and I hand make customized Charm and Bangle Bracelets at affordable prices. What sets my business apart from the rest are my affordable prices. The economy is expensive right now an we still want to look nice or be able to afford nice things and not go broke by doing so. My main thing is to cater to my customers and keep them coming back. I offer cleanings and repairs on all of my customize orders. I want my customers to know I will take care of their needs and concerns when they order from me.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is word of mouth and my social media posts. I’ve grown my clientele so much from word of mouth, from my previous clients and how happy they are with my products so they tell their family, friends and tag me on their social media posts with their purchases.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
It’s been a time when I had to pivot go back and think about what else can I do to better my business. When having a business you have to stop and think ” what can I do that will keep them coming back for more”? Once you realize what’s in high demand you will start to change things and look at things from a different perspective. It’s ok to pivot to get you back on the right path.
