We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jiyeon Lee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jiyeon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
It feels incredibly joyful and gratifying to be able to earn a living through something I love. Achieving this has required a lot of time and effort, and there’s still much to improve and develop in the future. However, I’m determined to move forward with gratitude for each day and continue to progress

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Embarking on this career path felt like a completely natural progression for me. Having harbored a deep passion for music from a young age, the realm of engineering appeared as an inherent extension of my interests.
It all began with refining my own musical compositions through mixing, and today,
I find myself immersed in the film industry, meticulously perfecting projects commissioned by clients.
The pinnacle of satisfaction for me lies in the process of taking initial, unrefined files and crafting them into precisely what our clients envision.
It’s important to note that beneath the entertainment that the general public consumes, there lies an intricate web of diligent efforts.
Through my work, I’ve developed a profound appreciation for the cultural pursuits that I hold dear, having intimately experienced the profound dedication required to bring them to fruition

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal, to be honest, hasn’t been something I’ve deeply contemplated in recent times. It feels like I’m currently in a phase where each day is highly competitive, and my focus is squarely on immediate tasks.
However, upon reflection during this moment, it all comes down to creativity.
Even now, I engage in creative activities within my field, but I yearn to create something entirely my own.
At this point, I believe I may be somewhere along the journey toward that goal

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most heartwarming and rewarding moments in this line of work, I believe, come when the projects I’ve been a part of are recognized and appreciated by people. Ultimately, I’m engaged in the business of bringing joy to the public, so there’s no greater warmth and happiness for me than when the audience experiences joy or deep resonance through our creations.
