Alright, Jingyi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I choose this path because I struggled to make friends and fit in with groups n my childhood, which often left me feeling isolated. Painting is more enjoyable to me than making friends. Since I was a child, I used to draw a lot of charming female cartoon characters and imagine their exciting lives.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Learning how to paint systematically was a complicated experience for me, as my family didn’t support my pursuit of painting when I was in middle school. But in the end, my father ultimately made a compromise that allowed me to continue following my dreams.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

The primary reason I keep drawing is that I derive pleasure from dreaming up unique stories and interacting with the original characters that I create. As a result, I’m determined to keep my imagination active and continue producing captivating works.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

My friends and I might go to savannah to drink coffee because it has many unique cafes, and their coffee is tasty. Additionally, each coffee shop has a very stylized interior decoration, which allows us to chat, drink coffee, and draw pictures simultaneously. I am incredibly thankful to my parents, as I wouldn’t have been able to pursue painting without their support. Along my journey of exploring painting, I am also immensely grateful to SCAD for providing me with the chance to broaden my perspectives and learn painting from various angles.
