We were lucky to catch up with Jimmy Allgood recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jimmy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about the best boss, mentor, or leader you’ve ever worked with.
My Journey as a Chiropractor in Steiner Ranch: Lessons from My Best Boss, Avery
Greetings, everyone! My name is Dr. Jimmy Allgood, and I am a Chiropractor based here in the beautiful community of Steiner Ranch. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless individuals find relief from conditions and achieve better health. My journey as a Chiropractor has been incredibly fulfilling, but there’s one aspect of my life that has truly shaped who I am and how I approach my work: my loving 5-year-old daughter, Avery. She is, without a doubt, the best boss I’ve ever had.
My fascination with the human body and the desire to heal began at a young age. I dedicated years to studying and training, and when I finally opened Allgood Chiropractic, it was truly a dream come true. The clinic quickly became a sanctuary for those seeking relief from chronic pain, injuries, the stresses of everyday life, and those seeking optimal health. My approach was holistic, focusing not just on spinal adjustments, but the entire nervous system. I wanted to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms.
While my professional life was thriving, it was my personal life that brought me the most joy and perspective. From the moment Avery was born, she brought an unparalleled sense of happiness and a new way of looking at the world. Her laughter, curiosity, and unconditional love were constant reminders of what truly mattered. Despite her young age, Avery had an incredible ability to connect with people and brighten their day.
Avery often accompanies me to the clinic, and her presence is like a ray of sunshine. Patients love her, and she has a natural way of making everyone feel at ease. She hands out stickers, offers words of encouragement, and even gives high-fives to those who need a little extra motivation. It’s amazing to see how her small gestures can have such a big impact on people.
One particularly challenging week stands out in my memory. I was feeling overwhelmed by a series of complex cases, and the stress was starting to take its toll. As I prepared for another long day, Avery bounded into my office with a handmade sign that read, “World’s Best Chiropractor – My Daddy!” Her simple act of love and encouragement was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits and remind me why I do what I do.
I hung that sign in my office, and it serves as a daily reminder of Avery’s love and admiration. With her by my side, I approached my “work” (I don’t call it work because it isn’t) with renewed energy and a lighter heart. Avery has taught me that my “work” is not just about healing bodies but also about spreading joy and compassion. She has shown me that the true measure of success is not just in the number of patients I treat but in the smiles I bring to their faces and the comfort I provide.
As I continue to build my practice, I strive to integrate the lessons I’ve learned from Avery into my approach. I embrace a holistic approach to Chiropractic care, focusing on the overall well-being of my patients. Avery’s influence is evident in the positive atmosphere of the clinic, and many patients remark on the sense of warmth and community they feel when they walk through the door.
Avery is more than just a source of inspiration; she is my best boss. She has taught me that the heart of Chiropractic care lies not just in the hands of the practitioner but in the love and laughter shared along the way. Every day, as I walk into my clinic, I carry with me the spirit of my loving daughter. With each adjustment, each consultation, and each moment of care, I honor the lessons I’ve learned from Avery.
In Steiner Ranch, I’ve found not only a community to serve but also a source of endless inspiration in my daughter. Avery has shaped me into a better chiropractor and, more importantly, a better person. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Jimmy Allgood, a proud native of Austin, Texas, has always been deeply rooted in his community. Growing up in the vibrant city of Austin, Dr. Jimmy attended Leander High School, where he was not only a dedicated student but also a passionate athlete. His love for sports, especially baseball, saw him excel on the field, earning him a place on a college baseball team.
After high school and obtaining an undergraduate degree, Dr. Jimmy pursued higher education with the same dedication he had for sports. He attended Parker University in Dallas, Texas, a prestigious institution known for its Chiropractic program. It was here that Dr. Jimmy’s fascination with the human body and its ability to heal itself truly blossomed. His time at Parker University was marked by rigorous academic training and extensive hands-on experience, laying a solid foundation for his future career.
At Parker, Dr Jimmy met his wife, now Dr Lauren who is also a Chiropractor. Upon graduating from Parker University, Dr. Jimmy and Dr. Lauren decided to settle in Steiner Ranch, a picturesque community that offered the perfect balance of serenity and opportunity. Jimmy and Lauren opened Allgood Chiropractic, a clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive chiropractic care with a focus on holistic well-being. Dr. Jimmy’s practice quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional care, particularly for pediatric and pregnant patients. His gentle techniques and deep understanding of the unique needs of these populations made him a sought-after chiropractor for families. Dr. Jimmy’s ability to connect with patients of all ages and his dedication to their well-being is why he was nominated as a Finalist for the Austin Under 40 Awards.
Today, Dr. Jimmy Allgood is not only known for his expertise in Chiropractic care but also for the warmth and compassion that define his practice. His journey from a high school athlete in Austin to a respected chiropractor in Steiner Ranch is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and the support of his loving family. Dr. Jimmy continues to make a positive impact on his community, one adjustment at a time!

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back and choose a different career…… I wouldn’t. I am fully convinced that I have the best career in the entire world. I get to love on people all day, I am happy, I have a great work life balance, and there is absolutely nothing to complain about. In fact, I can’t even call it a “Job” or “work” because it simply is not. I look forward to serving people every morning. Are there jobs that pay better? Probably. Is there a significant amount of additional stress that comes with it? Highly possible.
I encourage anyone pursing a life of happiness, particularly in the healthcare field to give Chiropractic a good look. It changed my life for the better!

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
This is probably the gold standard for any field. Being a good person is absolutely essential. If the only thing you are thinking about is money, that is going to bleed through in your thoughts, your intentions, and your language. Even little kids can pick up on that. Your driving force in any career field has to be passion, compassion, and the eagerness to be the best. If you can develop a passion to serve that is greater than the compassion to survive, you will never go without success.
