We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jillian Romero Chaves . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jillian below.
Jillian, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Three years ago, my life seemed perfect – an executive leader for a large auto group, actively engaged in building my career and happily anticipating a marriage proposal. Then, my whole world changed when I discovered that my partner of three years had been cheating on me throughout our relationship a revelation that shattered my confidence and left me terrified of making another unhealthy relationship choice
Determined to not let this experience define me I embarked on a journey of self discovery which led to the creation of Clara for Daters. Clara is not a dating app; it’s an interactive relationship management tool that uses psychologist-designed questions to empower daters to build healthy connections by promoting behavior change and mental wellness in dating.
Think of it as Noom for relationships. Just as Noom helps you choose food that nurtures your body, Clara for Daters empowers you to make informed choices about relationships that foster healthy social connections.
Even if you’re not dating: Have you ever witnessed a close friend in toxic relationships? Or questioned why your niece consistently picks partners who aren’t committed?
Whether you’re personally navigating the dating scene or have seen others struggle, Clara for Daters is the answer. We’re not here to find you a date; we’re here to guide your self-awareness and relationship growth as you observe and reflect on your own personal dating experiences by logging your dates with different prospects over a period of time and in different environments as you get to know them and yourself in the relationship.
Already, we’ve seen remarkable success with our early beta test group reporting improved dating experiences going on multiple dates with prospects they used to dismiss after just one date (myself included).
With the creation of social media and dating apps it has never been easier to make new connections and yet we live in a world where loneliness has recently been declared an epidemic. Clara for Daters is the tool that teaches our society how to use these modern connection technologies in a healthy way.
My mission is to rewrite the story of modern relationships and abate our current loneliness epidemic one healthy connection at a time.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Title: “My Journey: From Auto Executive to Love Scientist”
In a world fueled by the roar of engines and the precision of the automotive industry, I was a name to reckon with. A third-generation car dealer and operator, I had ascended the ranks, becoming an Executive Leader and the visionary President of one of California’s largest auto centers. My life was defined by data, strategy, and a trailblazing spirit that carved my name in the male-dominated domain of automobiles.
But the road I had meticulously paved was about to take an unforeseen detour, a journey into the world of dating and mental health that would forever alter my course.
I had always believed in finding innovative solutions to complex problems, and it was no different when it came to love. A hopeless romantic at heart, I was on the brink of my own fairy tale – engaged to the love of my life, or so I thought. However, as the wheels of my relationship crumbled, I was faced with a heart-wrenching revelation. My soon-to-be fiancé had been unfaithful throughout our journey.
This shattering discovery was a collision of my two worlds, one that relied on algorithms and machinery and the other on the intricate workings of the human heart. It wasn’t just my trust that had been broken; it was my self-confidence and faith in my own ability to navigate the turbulent waters of love. I had always been an expert in my automotive career, a problem solver who believed in having all the answers.
But in this arena of relationships, I found myself humbled, forced to acknowledge that I knew nothing. The transition from being a successful executive to an entrepreneur in the complex world of dating and mental health was a humbling experience. I was no longer the one with all the answers; I had to learn the art of asking questions, making mistakes, and embracing uncertainty.
It was a stark shift from my previous almost-decade-long run of success. In my automotive career, I had consistently celebrated victories, but in this new journey, it was about learning to fail – not just learning to fail but learning to fail fast, to adapt, to iterate, and to evolve. It was about recognizing that making mistakes was a part of the process, that there were no guarantees, and that failure wasn’t an end but a stepping stone towards success.
As I embraced this new path, I realized that success in love, just like in entrepreneurship, wasn’t about knowing all the answers. It was about being willing to learn, to grow, and to adapt. This humbling experience led to the birth of Clara for Daters, an interactive relationship management tool that empowers individuals to make informed choices in their quest for love.
My story is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of learning to fail. It’s a journey that evolved from knowing all the answers to embracing uncertainty, and from automotive maverick to a Love Scientist on a mission to revolutionize the world of dating and mental health.
My life story teaches us that success isn’t about avoiding failures but about having the courage to fail, learn, and keep moving forward. In my words, “Get curious,” for it’s in that curiosity that we find the strength to rewrite our stories and reimagine our paths, even when it means starting all over again.
How did you build your audience on social media?
