Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jillian Amann. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jillian, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
On a grand scale, I hope my legacy will be one of innovative and novel ways to approach modern spiritual healing and self-discovery. Traditional mediumship and spiritual healing often involve seeking answers or giving up one’s power to receive outside guidance. There are often restrictive practices and beliefs woven into the occult, such as the belief that we need to see a psychic or spiritual advisor to feel connected to the spirit world and receive insight. When it comes to the legacy that I will leave behind, I want the main message to be one of spiritual sovereignty and responsibility. Not only do we all have the ability to grow our spiritual connection and senses, but we also all have a responsibility to discover our truth for ourselves rather than constantly depending on outside sources to connect and communicate for us. While we all will need an objective source from time to time, we needn’t rely on paid spiritual services to build and anchor our very own connection to spirit. That ability is hardwired within us, as we are all spiritual beings having a physical experience!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who may not have read about me before, I am a Spiritual Medium and Astrologer. As a Medium, I am naturally inclined to live in the in-between space of the physical and spiritual planes. I straddle life and death in all moments, and I am formally trained to connect humans to the deceased loved ones and spiritual beings who wish to send us messages of love and healing guidance. Although we all have the ability to sense what lies beyond the tangible world, a Medium is one who actively and intentionally develops these abilities and utilizes them casually or professionally for the greater good. As a Medium, I work closely with others to facilitate cathartic communications with the spirit world as well as self-healing and self-development.
While I have always been rather sensitive to the invisible world that runs below the surface of physical existence like a magical current, it wasn’t until a month before my 21st birthday that my purpose and life path began to reveal itself. After suddenly and unexpectedly losing my high school sweetheart and love in an awful car accident, I began to realize that I could perceive him and communicate with him still. After a couple of months of grief counseling and wondering if I was going insane, I divinely discovered a spiritual community and professional Medium who adopted me as her mentee. I spent two years simultaneously healing my heart and developing my mediumship and energy reading skills. I traveled abroad to the United Kingdom to attend the Arthur Findlay School of Psychic Sciences and did some soul searching on a solo trip to Paris. Upon my return, I decided to leave my hometown and move to Tampa Bay to start fresh. I’ve spent the last four years putting down roots in my community, continuing to heal and evolve myself, as well as working very hard to build a business that will allow me to learn and grow while doing something I passionately love!
When it comes to my business, Red Rose Readings, I serve the spiritual needs of others by acting as an energetic channel for messages from beyond the veil. I help people connect to and receive communications from their loved ones in spirit, which can bring about great catharsis and aid in the understanding of one’s grief. While grief will never be fully healed or expelled, touching base with our loved ones who now exist in a different dimension can help bridge the voidness of separation and aid in our grieving process. Death and loss can be overwhelming experiences that leave us floating through an undefined existential crisis. I serve others through my business by aiding the hearts and minds of those who are in bereavement, helping them to know and feel, beyond a doubt, that their loved one is okay and at peace.
Aside from afterlife communications, I also enjoy connecting my clients to their main spirit guide, the spiritual being who walks their journey with them (from the spirit world) from death to birth. Connecting to and communicating with our main guide, whether it’s through our own perception or an outside source (Medium), is extremely helpful and probably one of our best tools as spiritual beings having a human experience. These spiritual guides understand the grand view of our life journey and help us find our way, even if we have no clue of their existence. Serving my clients also involves connecting them to their main guide and relaying the wisdom and spiritual guidance that their guide most wants them to receive at that moment. This process helps my clients to receive validation, clarity, love, and support as they navigate their life journey and spiritual advancement here in the physical world!
What sets me apart from other spiritual mediums is my unique process of connecting to the spirit world. While traditional mediumship gives the spirit world all of the power by believing we can only make contact with those who show up, I believe that we can decide who we want to hear from and if we call out to them, they will show up! I believe this because I know that divine intelligence serves in ways far more perfect than what we humans can conceive of. If you have the desire in your heart to hear from someone in the spirit world and you reach out to a medium, the spirit world is already ten steps ahead of you. Not only will your loved one in spirit be able to connect to you, but the medium you found to facilitate the connection will always be the best, most unique fit for you, your loved one in spirit, and the individual needs of your experience. In other words, there really isn’t much preventing us from communicating with our loved ones other than our own outdated spiritual beliefs. What makes me different is that I intend not only to break through these archaic boxes of limited practice but to also teach and train the next modern generation of young mediums and intuitives to do the same!
I am most proud of the integrity and love that my business and practice are rooted in. More important to me than money and success is the healing I can inspire in the hearts of all who I come into contact with, professionally or not. If you leave a conversation or session with me feeling more free and light in your heart and spirit, I have served my very own purpose and that, to me, is worth everything in the end! I want potential clients to know that my “brand” is my authentic self and the spiritual purpose I am here to serve. I don’t necessarily market myself or my business as much as I express myself creatively in ways that support and inspire the spiritual healing of others. While I do want to help connect as many people as possible to their loved ones in spirit, my main goal is always to serve as an informative and inspiring beacon of light in this challenging yet beautiful world, and most of the time, I do that by just being myself. Sometimes the best way to spread your light and serve your purpose is to live as authentically as possible and to express your true values through every facet of your life. My business is not my work, but rather one avenue through which I might be able to add to the quality of life of those around me!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Have you ever had to pivot?
When I first started my business a couple of years back, I marketed myself heavily as a psychic. While I am formally trained in psychic energy reading, that is only the first rung on the ladder of my abilities, and to be honest, it’s the least satisfying one. My psychic abilities and training serve as wonderful tools for myself when it comes to navigating life, people, and my interactive experiences. It is helpful for me to understand the deeper layers of other people and the energies I feel between us and it opens me up to the ability to have more empathy and connection with others. However, when it comes to serving the spiritual needs of others, giving psychic information suddenly began to feel like a spiritual cop-out. I was giving people information that they assumed would be the answers they seek when in actuality, they need to find those answers out naturally, from within their own being. I cannot give them peace, they must cultivate peace in the unknowing themselves.
Obviously coming to this conclusion seriously challenged the work I was doing as most of my clients, in the beginning, saw me for frivolous information. “When will this happen? Should I go down this path? Which job should I take? Who will I meet? Do they truly love me? Are they betraying me?” were the most common questions that clients wanted answers to. While these questions were most certainly not frivolous to my clients, and they are very valid things to wonder about, they are not things we are meant to receive outside answers to. Those are things we are meant to navigate on our own and learn from as spiritual begins. To say that I entered into a months-long identity and existential crisis would be an understatement. I had no idea where to go from there, all I knew was that I was just as burnt out as the flame in my soul was dim. On top of that, I began to make bold predictions for clients that put pressure on my conscience. I strongly believe it is not anyone’s place to project onto the future of another person, but for some reason when these questions were asked, I felt answers come to the surface and I shared them with ease.
I learned that not every impression I feel needs to or is meant to be shared and that just because someone asks a question and I feel an answer doesn’t mean they’re meant to receive that answer. It doesn’t even mean the answer I hear is fully true! It’s only my interpretation of the energy I felt. The future changes just as quickly as our thoughts and I began to observe how irresponsible it is to share certain insights. I suddenly felt so uncomfortable I made a judgment call not to work that way anymore and that’s when everything shifted! I began to notice the parallels in my personal healing journey, such as the realization that the part in me that needs to people please to feel like I am enough was being expressed in my readings. I wanted people to leave a session with me feeling satisfied with the answers I gave them but that’s not how I can truly help people on a spiritual level. The best way for me to serve others is to give them the spiritual wisdom, straight from the spirit world, that they most need at that moment to navigate their life experience. I am not responsible for interpreting their conclusions, only for passing along the messages that will get them there.
Once I acknowledged that I am only a human, just like the people who receive readings from me. it felt easier to accept that I do not know anything that they do not have the capacity to know for themselves. I now understand that I serve as a flashlight, showing them the way to their knowing. I am not the knowing in itself nor do I ever have to be for anyone outside of myself. All of these realizations happened fast and proved to be a HUGE pivot in my work and business because as soon as this shifted in me, the clients who were drawn to me shifted as well. I began focusing on passing on spiritual messages of wisdom and love rather than psychic answers of knowing and although there is an adjustment period of growing pains within myself emotionally, I am learning that is truly the best for all involved.
Because of this pivot, I now get to watch my clients grow spiritually within themselves and feel the satisfaction of their own knowing and inner peace. I now understand that I get to help people awaken to the spirit within their own being rather than give them meaningless answers to their own very important questions. Questions that, perhaps, are not meant to be answered at all. Maybe we’re all meant to sit in the discomfort of not knowing from time to time in order to grow and it is more than okay to watch someone struggle in this space. Perhaps this pivot and all of the realizations that came attached will serve me greatly moving forward and will also allow me to serve others on much deeper, more spiritually important levels!
