We were lucky to catch up with Jill Newcomer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jill, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My Dad is the reason I started this company. He was my hero. He was loving, selfless, smart, kind to all, respected and accomplished. He was and will always be my North Star. It has been over a year now since he passed away on 11.16.23. Everyday is still difficult. I watched his decline over several years and searched for anything that would help him move through the world with the ease he always knew. It is because of the journey I took with him that led me to start this company KindnessFullStop. I designed templates and trackers that will help others keep track of all the health information you need and want to have access to as you navigate a series of doctors appointments that will often happen as one ages. I have compiled a list of products that will be needed if your loved one begins to lose mobility and other functions. There is also a course that includes these products and tips for using and implementing them in daily life. I want to help others care for their loved one and save them the time and effort of searching for solutions. It is such an emotional time and, if I can make it a bit easier by providing this information, that will make me grateful and I know it will make my Dad happy too.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The way I answered the first question is a bit like this question…..
I would add that I want to be an interactive company and hear from my customers about what works for them so that the information is constantly improving and relevant.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
2023 was all about change for me. In June, my daughter graduated from High School. In July, I left my husband of 22 years and moved with my daughter from CA to TX. In August, I moved my daughter into the dorm and she started college. In November, my Dad passed away. Those 6 months were very emotional.
Business wise during that time was transitional. I used to co-own a business with my ex-husband and also design and sell motivational fitness equipment. I was bought out of the shared business and still had the fitness business called RollWithAGoal. I still have that today, however, my focus is now to fulfill my mission of helping others through the journey of aging with KindnessFullStop.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In 2023 it was all about resilience. The way I got through was to keep the focus in the present and find the meaning and in what was happening. For instance, my daughter’s graduation from High School was a day of excitement for her and she looked beautiful. This day meant that she was ready to take her next step in her life and go to college. My divorce was an end of one chapter and a beginning of a new one full of possibilities. The day my daughter went to college, although I was very sad, I knew it was a blessing that she had this opportunity to find her passion, meet great people and have the time of her life. I was blessed to present with my Dad when he passed and, although it is still difficult to process, I have channeled my grief and made it my mission to help others with KindnessFullStop.
