Jill, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The inspiration behind our brand name, NB REAL ESTATE Co, stems from a deeply personal journey and a profound realization about the true purpose of our work in the real estate industry. Back in September 2024, I made the pivotal decision to commit to real estate full-time. It was then that I knew we needed a brand name that genuinely reflected our vision and the transformative experiences we sought to create for our clients.
As I contemplated various options, I found myself glancing at my wrist tattoo, a symbolic reminder of the power of new beginnings. Suddenly, everything clicked into place. It became evident that our company’s core mission was to help clients embark on their own new beginnings, whether through the purchase of a dream home, the sale of a property, or the pursuit of a real estate investment. This epiphany led to the idea for “New Beginnings Real Estate.”
My husband joined the team, and we both felt passionately about this name that so beautifully encompassed the transformative potential of each real estate transaction we facilitated. However, when we attempted to register the name, we discovered it was already in use. Undeterred, we spent two days brainstorming alternatives, but nothing resonated with us in the same way.
In the end, we decided to shorten the name to NB REAL ESTATE Co, preserving the essence of New Beginnings that had initially captivated us. This name serves as a constant reminder of our commitment to guiding home buyers and sellers as they forge their paths toward new beginnings, one home at a time.

My name is Jill Helt, and along with my husband, Mike Helt, we are the Founders of NB REAL ESTATE Co. PLLC, a thriving real estate business located in Utah county, Utah, that focuses on helping clients create new beginnings one home at a time.
Our journey in the real estate industry began when I decided to leave my municipal government career and pursue real estate full-time. My passion for helping others and my desire to have a direct impact on people’s lives led me to this exciting and fulfilling field.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One story that illustrates my resilience is from my time at a company I thought I would retire from. After working there for 17 years, I decided to move into a management role, hoping to make a positive impact and improve the workplace culture. However, I quickly found myself in a challenging situation where I was pressured to treat employees like numbers, falsify timecards, and partake in disrespectful behavior. Despite the risk of facing backlash, I refused to compromise my principles and stood up for what I believed in—treating everyone with respect and upholding my ethical standards.
Although this put a target on my back, I remained determined and focused on creating a better work environment. However, after three years of dealing with the toxic atmosphere and the toll it took on my mental health, I realized it was time for a change. I left that company and started working for a local municipal government, where I could apply the valuable lessons I had learned and create an atmosphere that aligned with my values.
My experience at that former company shaped my character, tested my resilience, and taught me the importance of staying true to my principles. It ultimately fueled my determination to succeed in my own company and establish a work environment based on respect, communication, and integrity. This story highlights my ability to adapt, persevere, and prioritize my well-being while maintaining a strong sense of ethics and resilience in the face of adversity.
