We were lucky to catch up with Jill Ecker recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

When I started my business, I was working full time in healthcare, married with two children, and all that a busy life entails. I decided to offer angel sessions in the evenings to supplement my income. As Angel Guide on the Side began to grow from just a hobby, I wondered if I should change the name. I’m glad I didn’t, because I envision my business as an important aspect of my life path and spiritual path and, as I move forward on this path, it is my intention to help others as they move forward on theirs.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My interest in angels and spirituality began with me in pool of tears on my kitchen floor. I was broken hearted and hopeless. I had been betrayed, my children were little, I didn’t know how to move forward. As I sobbed, I asked for help. I just kept repeating ‘help me’, rhythmically, not expecting an answer. What I experienced in that moment was absolute peace. It couldn’t be, because I was most certainly, not ok. Not at peace. I knew instantly, that this was the Divine. Without question. I had never felt this and knew that whatever ‘this’ was, I wanted more of it.

I began reading angel books, using oracle cards, taking spiritual classes with teachers including Kyle Gray and Corin Grillo, I learned many different healing modalities. I had no intention of starting a business, I wanted to receive guidance and healing for myself and my family. Slowly, interest began building and I started offering personal Guardian Angel names and messages. As I opened this door, the angels had more for the clients. They offered healing, instruction, and so much encouragement for the clients but also for me. I left these sessions energized and inspired. I decided that everyone needed to know that they are not alone and not on their own. Angels follow law of free will. They can help us when we ask for and allow their support. They very often give me a visual of being surrounded by helpful spirits just waiting for us to ask for help. I encourage everyone to start talking to their angels, invite them into their daily life, and ask for signs. Our angels and crossed over loved ones love to show us that they are here. I asked for a sign when I was considering starting this business and I woke up to find an angel of ice by my front door.

I offer one on one healing sessions and mentoring for those who wish to connect with their angels and their spiritual gifts. These sessions are tailored to the client by their angels and guides. In a session, we meet their guardian angels, receive channeled messages from their angels, guides, crossed over loved ones, and Ascended Masters, information on their purpose, get insights about where they are blocked, explore Akashic records and clear old energy, ancestral patterns, past lives, trauma, karma, oaths, vows, and contracts. I also offer sessions for business alignment for entrepreneurs to clear blocks and align to their purpose and clients. Coming soon, I will begin offering workshops and group message circles.

I have an offering of free readings on my facebook page on Sundays at 2pm Eastern. This has become such a blessing to me. We have so much fun connecting to their angels and loved ones.

As I open up to more of the Divine, I have more to share with others. I am grateful for the path that led me here. Being of service has allowed me to grow in my spiritual gifts in a way that I would not have if I had just kept it to myself. When I am not asking for guidance or connecting to my spiritual practice, my angels often use a client’s session to get messages to me. Very often they offer guidance, support, and encouragement is for them but also for me. Arch Angel Michael pokes me in the ribs when I’m channeling messages that are also meant for me. This always makes me roll my eyes and smile.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

I can’t imagine a more rewarding gig! I can’t imagine more inspiring ‘coworkers’ then the Divine. Instantly, when working with angels, the energetic vibration rises. Even before the messages start coming though, spirits are lifted. I witness emotional healing that the client can literally feel weight lift off of them. Their angels tell me the most amazing things about them, that when I tell them, they are brought to tears. They remind them of their gifts, their dreams, and their joys. The angels love to remind them of the blessing that they are to others. Where the client sees no way, the angels not only show them a way, but a joyful way. How can I not be inspired? I witness miracles every day.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I built my audience doing live angel readings on Facebook. Coming on live consistently nurtured a beautiful relationship with my followers and pushed me to show up. It gives them a taste of my personality and how I deliver spirit messages. I had a huge block of my own to overcome…my pricing. I’ve always had difficulty raising my prices at my angels nudging. I never want to be inaccessible to anyone. My free readings allow anyone to get messages. I will always have this offering, I look forward to it every week. Even though I am here to be of service, the angels have shown me the value in my offerings and my time. My advice to anyone building a following is be consistent. Continually showing up authentically allows the people who are looking for you to find you. It’s a beautiful reminder that you and your services are here for them.
