We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jhon Merizalde Ortiz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jhon below.
Alright, Jhon thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
Back when I started in UHD, the immense love and support I received was incredible. People really made feel like they believe in me, and gave me gifts. I received GRE books, coffee mugs, dedication posts and jump ropes. Each of this people made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Jhon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
It started when I used to workout, people saw how passionate I was and wanted me to help them. I gave out techniques and tips to them and they love it. They encourage me to take it serious. I decided to take the test and passed meanwhile I was in college. My first opportunity was in UHD, and I fell in love with it. It is the first time I was around people that shared the same similar interest to be in the fitness industry. Some of the issues I have encounter have been dealing with people with low self esteeem. Consistency is the key to all these problems. You have to learn to be kind and compassionate and actually be there for people, that is what sets you apart from people. I want people to realize that if they find something they enjoy, they will likely stick with it.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Yes. I hurted my back before I was a part of the fitness industry, and personal training has helped me instruct people to be careful with their bodies. At lot of training people, it is about safety prevention.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There are sunny and rainy days and you will always be inside your own skin. This hobby, this lifestyle will help endured both days with clarity. When no one else is there for you, you will see that you have been there for yourself. This is a very empowering feeling.
