We were lucky to catch up with Jhené Eke recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jhené, thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe that becoming successful takes a combination of hard work, determination, perseverance, and a positive attitude. It also requires setting specific goals, developing a clear plan to achieve those goals, and staying focused and dedicated to your vision. Additionally, it is important to constantly seek opportunities for growth and improvement, as well as to surround yourself with supportive and motivated individuals. Success is not easy to achieve, but with commitment and the right mindset, I believe that anyone can reach their goals and realize their dreams. I found something that I was good at, and expounded on it. It’s been almost over a decade, but about a year, since I decided to rebrand and go at this full-time. I started off originally training individuals, then I got into learning about nutrition, and detail, and decided to take on the food part. I’ve always been an outstanding cook, so I decided to finally share my gifts with the world. it has been a scary process, but very fulfilling at the same time.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
What got me started into the health and wellness field was my family. Since we were little, our parents had me, and my three siblings always participating in some extracurricular activities.. We would always be there to support one another from the elementary level all the way into the college realm. my older sister, as well as my older brother, were also prominent in the health and wellness field, so I decided to dig more deep, something you could say it as me following suit. My love for eating well, and staying active runs deep, as it’s honestly all I’ve ever known. I decided to get more into it because I would constantly have questions about how I maintain myself, what type of exercises I would do, etc., so I decided why not turn something that you love into something that could generate lucrative income, but honestly, most importantly, help, mold, shape, and change lives. I decided to also include one of my other trades, which is my knowledge of nutrition, as well as food preparation.. i’ve always been one to be a creative since I could remember, so looking at my brand, I had to sit down and ask myself, what more can I have to offer. What can make me a one stop shop, when it comes to health and fitness? And that’s when I decided to get more education on the nutrition aspect. Currently, I offer one on one in person, personal training, surfaces, as well as customize meal preparations.
My mission is to help my clients build the body they desire, and provide convenience of enjoying fresh meals.
What I believe sets me apart from others, is my dedication and work ethic. I always go above and beyond in everything I do, constantly pushing myself to achieve excellence. I am always willing to put in the time and effort necessary to succeed, even when faced with challenges.
I’m so proud of myself for taking the leap of faith, and rebranding, and going full-time. I had to leave my state government job of seven years, as it was not fulfilling not to mention, where I wanted to be. I’m proud of a tremendous amount of sacrifices that I had to do in order to finally go live..
What I want potential client to know is that what you want you can receive it! Whatever you want. In reason, can be yours. When it comes to taking care of your body, that’s the best thing One can do, so when you invest into your health, your body will thank you for ages.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy, for growing my clientele, has been honestly the old-school way, which is word-of-mouth. I know we live in a digital age now, and everyone wants to be contacted through social media someway, but 90% of my clientele has literally been through a friend telling another friend telling another friend. I believe word-of-mouth is still powerful even in the pivotal times we live in.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I remember this like it was yesterday. As I mentioned, I had consistent income, guaranteed income, for over seven years. And when someone really says they are sick and tired of being sick and tired, it is very much true. That’s exactly what happened to me. I decided to bank on myself And go cold turkey. I knew that I was good at what I did, now it was to have the world know who I was. I decided to do a photo, shoot, rebrand, take some things out before, and add a new concepts in. When I launched, I was ready and had to be spiritually together in order to make sure to not get discouraged and understand businesses may experience trying times and that I did! It got to a time where I liquidated all my savings accounts in order to just make ends meet. I decided to even get another job in order to make close to what I was making before, and then my prayers were answered. The more cards, and people I interacted with, the more people who will inquire about my services. It has gotten to the point I’ve had to decline to services, because I just did not have the time. My cup had finally overflown, and I couldn’t feel more blessed.
