We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jhanai Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jhanai, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new venture – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?

I spent a few months just freelancing and doing free work for people until a friend of mine decided that she wanted to support me. My first logo I ever created was done for just $20 or $25 dollars i believe. It felt good to finally make money for something I enjoyed doing.

Jhanai, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Jhanai C. Williams, I am a graphic designer and i love to help people bring their visions and brands to life.

to me its a little deeper then just branding because i get more enjoyment out of helping people feel like they actually have a chance to become something with their brands. It gives them a lot more confidence and that’s what makes me the most happy. Just being able to be a person to make people see the light and be motivated.

I offer many different graphic services – logos, business cards, e-flyers, acuity revamps and much more!

i would want people to know that I am a very easy going person to work with. I want to see you win and i am more than glad to help any and everyone’s brand come to life. Together we are a team.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Consistency & perseverance helped me a lot. Even when my business was slow i would still post every single day, sometimes all day until I would eventually get noticed.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

yes, my mother is my biggest motivating factor and I make sure to give this my all every chance i get because i would love to see my mother happy and make her proud.
