We were lucky to catch up with Jewels Davidson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jewels thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
As a small business owner and passionate mama motivator, maintaining my own life balance has always been essential.
The often challenging yet truly rewarding journey I took with starting my own business is something I will always be grateful for… and the work/family/life balance I always craved is my greatest reward.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
After suffering from chronic and often confusing health issues throughout my childhood and into my teens, I was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease as a young adult. From that point on, my appreciation for nutrition and it’s profound and direct impact on the body (in every aspect) was formed.
My deep desire to not only help myself reclaim body balance, but to also expand my focus with helping others feel optimal, motivated me to leave a successful marketing/media career and prioritize client care through fitness, nutrition and wellness therapies.
Throughout the last decade, I’ve had the most amazing experiences. Daily in-person training, traveling with clients and working virtually with corporate clients throughout the U.S. has allowed me opportunities I never dreamed possible. Working with the goals and needs of such a diverse and highly motivated clientele, has solidified in my mind the importance and direct impact daily movement, breath work, a positive mindset, mindful eating and self-care can have on our health.
Using personalized strength training programs, anti-inflammatory nutrition plans, HIIT, pre/post-natal programs and a variety of integrated modalities, I truly love living my passion and helping clients reclaim their health!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My priorities and entire life perspective was drastically altered in April of 2020. Easing back into my private training business was a challenging yet welcomed adjustment two months after the birth of my son. However, being forced to shut my doors and pivot to virtual options for my private and corporate clients as the pandemic took hold, was challenging.
Only a few short weeks later, my family endured an unimaginable tragedy with the sudden death of my beloved baby brother. In an instant, my life and those closest to me, were forever changed. The life and body balance I had always tried to maintain was shattered. Grief fogged over my daily to-do lists, long-term goals lost all importance and just getting through the day, while taking care of a 3 month old in a pandemic became essential.
Working through tremendous grief and reclaiming balance has taken daily work, strength, love, support and time. Practicing gratitude, healing meditations and detoxifying sweat sessions has been therapeutic. These transformative techniques continue to help me truly ‘show up’ for my loved ones and dedicated clients, each and every day.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I had to go back in time, I would unequivocally choose the same path and fitness profession. The opportunities it has created and the absolutely inspirational clients I get to partner with and support along their wellness journey is the greatest gift.
