We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jewel Arseneigh Quitalig. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jewel Arseneigh below.
Alright, Jewel Arseneigh thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
I remember being 17 during the pandemic, feeling like life had hit pause. It was like I was stuck and just waiting for things to go back to normal. But honestly, I wasn’t even sure what “normal” meant anymore. Everything felt off – my brain felt foggy, I couldn’t focus on studying, and even chatting with my family felt weird.
I spent way too much time scrolling through my phone, drowning in all the bad news on social media and TV. I was desperate for a break, for something to change.
I didn’t know where to start, but every day, I tried to do something, anything, to shake things up. I tried selling face masks so I could still save money even without my school allowance, starting a small online business with my sisters and cousin, and then searching for a job/clients locally. Months went by with me crying to God as doors kept slamming shut, saying I wasn’t skilled enough, too young, or lacking a degree. I thought maybe I’d have to wait until I hit 18 or when I graduated to get those opportunities.
But, I refused to give up on my dreams and chose to take a risk. After three months of practicing interviews, honing my skills, making connections, and just figuring out how to get where I wanted to be, international opportunities started knocking.
I have always dreamed of working with people all over the world and scoring direct international clients, but fear of rejection held me back. Little did I know, those rejections from local companies and clients were pushing me toward that dream.
From then on, I realized the importance of believing in yourself, even when others doubt you. They said I was too young to be qualified, but God said I’m too young to have the courage that some older people don’t have. They said I lacked skills, but God said it was the best possible time to build skills. They said I didn’t have a degree, but God said, “You’re going to show people you can work for that dream and still manage to get that degree.”
Moral of the story: Even when it seems like there are limited opportunities available, take those steps — big or small — and still pursue your dreams.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Jewel Arseneigh Lelina Quitalig from the Philippines; a college student, an international marketing tech specialist, a financial empowerment coach, a course creator, a mom of two fur babies, a volunteer in animal rescue, and the CEO of Elevate Creatives Co.
Elevate Creatives Co. started during the pandemic year of 2020. At 17, I co-founded a small online thrift shop, diving headfirst into customer service, sales, and the world of digital marketing and branding. This experience ignited a passion for the online landscape.
Driven by that passion, I freelanced as a social media manager, crafting content and becoming the art director for clients. My hunger for knowledge led me to an SEO agency, where I quickly transitioned from client services to the SEO team.
Freelancing allowed me to explore further, offering a variety of digital marketing and branding services. But it was the technical aspects that truly captivated me. So, I embraced my love for the “techy stuff” and became a Marketing Tech Specialist.
Today, I help businesses of all sizes around the world thrive online by offering a comprehensive suite of services including website management, SEO optimization, content creation, and data analysis. Constantly upskilling, I’m excited to see what the future holds in the world of digital marketing.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Building a strong team with high morale requires a balance of support and accountability. My advice is to encourage open communication, provide constructive feedback, and foster a culture of learning from mistakes. It is important to show appreciation for their contributions and empower them to take ownership of their work. Because by valuing each team member’s unique strengths and offering guidance without fostering a fear of failure, you can cultivate a positive and productive environment, which I always aim for Elevate Creatives Co.
