We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jett Platt. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jett below.

Hi Jett, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I make my living as a solo musician/entertainer. I have had bookings at festivals, many beautiful weddings, kid’s birthday parties, corporate parties, wineries, luxury hotels, etc. The most meaningful project has been playing for my friends at the Overture in Fairview Texas. The residents range from 55 and up, most of them retired and maintain these amazing friendships with the people they now call neighbors. The first time I played for them I was nervous my age difference would hinder their excitement. What could a 23 year old know about music?. I decided I would surprise them with some classics including Frank Sinatra, John Denver, Willie Nelson, Elvis, Ernie Ford, etc. The room was full with approximately 30 people and they smiled, clapped and enjoy it. When I asked for REQUEST, that was where the magic started. Jett, do you know any Bruno Mars, Van Morrison, Thomas Rhett, The Weekend, The Rolling Stones? How about Pink Floyd, Little Big Town, that new song by Khalid? They told they love music and want to hear more than cruise ship music when musician perform! I laughed so hard and then “pumped” up the music. It is a blast to perform for them regularly. The room is now filled up and everyone dances, request songs and considers me like a grandson. Playing for these new friends on a regular basis is the highlight of my month. Music truly brings people together, creates joy in the heart & your soul. Sometimes it’s hard to believe I get to do this as a career, a career where people are always glad to see me!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Jett Platt Music. I am a Texas born Events Musician, sharing my soulful voice at weddings, festivals, parties, hotels and anywhere music takes me, Whether on guitar or piano, I strive to add something special to any size room. What I think helps me to stand out is my extensive song variety that crosses all genres of music. You name a song and I will do my best to impress you with it. Johnny Cash to Bruno Mars I love all arrangements of music and enjoy writing originals. My own personal songwriting stems from early influences of eclectic rock mixed with current day ensembles “I taught myself to play the piano around age 12, then piano, the vocals came together much later, I work hard to develop and maintain my voice range from bass to tenor to surprise an audience. Singing did not come naturally like playing instruments.” I feel the heavy responsibility and honor to perform at weddings, special occasions, big and small events… I work hard to prepare for each individual’s requests to make the moment more special with music.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
All musicians, artists, entertainers,.. have to be resilient. If you love this career you have to knock on doors, present yourself as professional at all times and in music, be memorable! The old saying “starving artists” is real. You will have great fun busy months full of parties and bookings. Then you have the months that people are taking a break from events & socializing. Social Media has been a wonderful tool for musicians to stay relevant on a daily basis. Posting and Sharing their new stuff. Reminding everyone how much they love “live music”.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
2022 is the year I marry my fiancé that I have dated since eighth grade. Luckily I have a very supportive partner in life and love. She has been the muse for many love songs. The creative journey lives within me every day but my goal and mission is to enjoy life, grow my audience and support my family through music and lots of hard work.
