Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessie Pfriem. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jessie, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Since starting my photography back in 2015, I have always made it my mission to make women feel empowered with themselves through my photos. Women come from all walks of life looking for something to break out of the shell and see themselves in a different light. Whether it’s a boudoir session, conceptual, or fine art, I strive to always have my customers see photos and say “I can’t believe that’s ME”. Women feel so much under societal pressures, that even just for a moment, I want them to see what everyone else sees, beauty.

Jessie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I never thought in a million years that I would fall in love with photography and choose this path for myself. Upon going back to school, I received my first DSLR through my schooling and took a single photography class, which changed everything for me. Since then, I started doing photoshoots out of my home, and then slowly started building my business. Fast forward to now, I run and operate JRD Designs & Photography, LLC as a full service photographer, specializing in boudoir, conceptual, and fine art photography.

As previously mentioned, my mission has always been to make women feel more confident with themselves. I specifically aim my sessions to showcase either fantasy or conceptual portraits where my clients can feel empowered through each session. I provide several themed sets, boudoir, and events that work on building up the confidence and building relationships with likeminded individuals.

I am most proud of how far my photography skills have advanced since beginning this journey, and the wonderful people I have had the pleasure of working with throughout my time. Each client is so special to me and I have built great relationships with all of them. I have been multipublished in several magazines with my work, and I am most well-known for my bright and vibrant imagery.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Running a business, especially from an artistic standpoint has it’s many ups and downs. In my time of running this business, it can be feast or famine. You have to be resilient and remember where you started and how far you’ve developed as an individual/business. Just keep making art, never give it up.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Social media is where I do a large majority of growing my client base. When I first started, I would watch my pages and invite people anytime I saw a new profile like one of my posts. You have to put yourself in front of them, invite to follow. Over time that will help you become recognized so the next time someone asks ” hey do you have any photographer recommendations?” that person will spread word.

Continue to make content and put it out there for everyone to see. Eventually, you will become more well-known within the community. Network with everyone you can!!
