Alright, Jessie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
Thank you for asking such a thoughtful question! Looking back on my journey, I can honestly say I believe everything happened exactly when it was supposed to, and I’m incredibly grateful for how everything unfolded. My faith is a huge part of my life, and I truly believe that Jesus had the perfect plan for me when it came to discovering my passion for content creation, which ultimately led me to start my UGC business.
To give you some backstory, I was still in college at the University of South Carolina, pursuing a degree in Nursing, excited to start a new chapter of my life. Then, in early 2020, the pandemic hit, and suddenly, all my classes were moved online. The shift was completely overwhelming and isolating, and I found myself devastated feeling like I missed out on the college experience I had always envisioned for myself. On top of that, I became lost and uncertain about my career path, which led me to fall into a deep depression I honestly never thought I would get out of.
It wasn’t until early 2022, when a TikTok about UGC (User-Generated Content) popped up on my For You Page, that I started to see a glimmer of light in the dark hole I was stuck in. The Lord placed it on my heart to pick up my phone and give it a try, despite having no idea what it would lead to. I could’ve easily let doubt and the fear of what others would think hold me back—but I didn’t. I trusted that if this was something I was meant to pursue, the path would unfold in time.
Today, I’m incredibly proud to say that I’ve had the opportunity to help over 150 brands, including Amazon Blink, Magic Spoon, Pair Eyewear, Breyers, Motion, BullyMake, Daiso, and so many more, reach their marketing goals each quarter! If I had let fear dictate my journey, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and I am so grateful how everything fell into place. But none of this would have been possible without the unwavering love and support of my amazing parents. They’ve been my rock through every high and low, and their belief in me never wavered. From being a confused lost girl with no clear direction to becoming a successful full-time business owner, their guidance and encouragement continues to push me to work hard and I’ll forever be grateful for them. So, to answer your question—no, I don’t wish I had started sooner or later. I truly believe everything happened in God’s perfect timing, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m a full-time, multi-niche UGC creator and Ads specialist based in the beautiful, sunny SoCal. My journey into this industry was nothing short of life changing! It all began by simply stumbling upon a Tiktok from a now fellow creator and friend talking about UGC (user-generated content) combined with my passion for storytelling. and boom! What started as a side hustle on TikTok to make a little extra money quickly evolved into a full-time business, but it didn’t come overnight. It took a lot of patience, discipline, and dedication to hone my craft and build my brand. Through it all, I relied on God for strength, and within just a year, I turned my side hustle into a thriving business.
Today, I offer a wide range of services to my clients, including UGC ad creation, creative strategy, script writing, drone footage, in-person shoots, and monthly retainers. What truly sets me apart in this industry is my ability to craft engaging stories that connect with viewers on an emotional level, while utilizing direct response marketing techniques to drive conversions. It’s not just about creating visually appealing content; it’s about identifying common pain points that potential customers have and framing the brand’s product as the solution. This approach has proven successful in creating ads that don’t just capture attention but actually convert—ultimately building loyal customer bases for the brands I work with.
One of the most important things I value as a creator is continuous learning and improvement. My motto is “never stop being a student” because the world of social media and marketing is always evolving. It’s crucial not to become stagnant or overly comfortable, so I’m always pushing boundaries and testing out unique concepts for brands. I believe that’s key to finding the winning ad that can make all the difference.
I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come. Running a business solo is no easy task, and it can be overwhelming at times. There were moments when things were slow, but I never gave up. I stayed disciplined, remained steadfast, and trusted the process. That’s the type of creator I am: resilient, driven, and dedicated. The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been building genuine, trust-based relationships with my clients right off the bat and putting my best foot forward to consistently deliver content that far exceeds their expectations. When I first started, I focused on creating high-quality, authentic content that resonated with audiences. I didn’t just want to be another creator pushing products—I aimed to tell compelling stories that connected emotionally with viewers. This helped me stand out in a crowded space and attract brands that appreciated my approach to UGC and ad creation.
From there, word-of-mouth and referrals have played a huge role. When clients see results—whether it’s increased engagement, better conversions, or a more authentic connection with their audience—they’re more likely to recommend me to others. I also always make it a priority to be responsive, reliable, and transparent in my communication.
In addition, I constantly invest time in learning and adapting to new trends in social media marketing. By staying ahead of the curve and being willing to experiment with new techniques, I’ve been able to show potential clients that I can bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table. This has helped me build a reputation as a creator who is not only skilled but also adaptable and committed to achieving long-term success for my clients.
Ultimately, my approach has been centered around offering real value, fostering authentic relationships, and being a creator who is continuously evolving. By staying focused on the results that matter to my clients, I’ve been able to build lasting partnerships that continue to fuel my growth.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me has definitely been my strong personal brand on social media. Having a consistent and authentic presence across platforms like Instagram, TikTok and X has allowed me to connect with potential clients on a deeper level. When people see who I am, not just the services I offer, they begin to trust me more. Social media gives me the ability to showcase my personality, values, and the quality of work I provide, which makes it easier for brands to see if I align with their vision before even reaching out.
Through my personal brand, I’ve built a community of followers who are not only interested in the content I create but also in the journey I’ve been on. I share behind-the-scenes looks at my creative process, insights into my industry, and honest reflections on my experiences. This transparency helps potential clients feel like they know me, which builds trust and makes them more likely to approach me when they’re looking for a UGC creator or ad specialist.
Additionally, a strong personal brand helps me stand out in a saturated market. When I post consistently and engage authentically with my audience, I’m able to stay top of mind for both existing followers and potential clients.
