Alright, Jessie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
I always offer something yearly for my clients in order to give back and show my appreciation for their support throughout the year. I’ve offered pay what you can photo sessions, returning client discounts, referral credits etc. word of mouth is one of the most important thing for a business. I definitely want to show my appreciation as I do truly appreciate all my wonderful clients. It always makes me feel so good when someone will reach out for a session and say a previous client sent them because they loved their photos with me.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Jessie and Im a mom of three, soon to be four. Photography has been a passion of mine from a young age. I feel like I’ve always had an artistic personality and love to be creative. Mid pandemic I decided to make a career change and took a leap to full time photography. I’ve loved working with all my clients and it’s so special to be able to capture some of their most precious moments in life. I primarily offer motherhood sessions from maternity through first year. I also enjoy family and couple sessions. I love building relationships with my clients and capturing all the moments in their life’s! I’ve had a few clients that I’ve captured their wedding all the way through the 1st birthday of their child and annual pictures along the way.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Definitely word of mouth! I always strive to make sure my clients not only have good photos to look back on but also a good experience. Taking family photos should be fun! It should be an experience your family can look back on and remember a great experience. When you give that amazing customer service, patience and understanding, a client is going to share their experience with others and others are going to want to come to you as well. I’ve received so many clients that have reached out and said you took so and so photos and they turned out great! I had to book a session.
Also, Social media presence is important. I’ve received a lot of new clients just from sharing my business information in local groups and local mom groups..
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing being a photographer for me is being able to capture precious moments! These are moments that families are going to look back at for a lifetime. I think it’s truly special to be trusted to capture these one in a lifetime moments such as your wedding or your newborns first photo session.
