We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessie Edenfield a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jessie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Setting boundaries. Often in my sessions, there comes a point where I assist my client in taking their power back. This “power” is often energy that has been taken due to people pleasing tendencies. I see too many good people with pure intentions being taken advantage of in their day to day life due to lack of boundaries. When you change the viewpoint to “how am I lacking as a result of what I am giving” then it becomes eye-opening. I also believe when we are constantly extending our kindness to those undeserving, which often happens because we are in a karmic cycle with this person/these people, we are interfering with their own karma. Our kindness and generosity is stopping them from facing whatever it is they need to face. We are rescuing them in a sense. Boundaries are a form of self-love. Teaching people to set boundaries for their own protection and seeing their lives change for the better is beyond fulfilling!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I graduated from the International Institute of Hypnotherapy located in Tampa, Florida. Here I achieved three separate certifications in Hypnotherapy including Clinical, Transpersonal, and Interpersonal Hypnotherapy. I am a NLP Practitioner, trained under Dr. William Horton. Also, a Reiki Master which I have many years of training and practice in this field.
I specialize in the spiritual and transformational side of Hypnotherapy which includes: current life regression to heal the younger version of you, and past life regression to break karmic cycles, entity releasement, channeling your higher self, and much more. Acting as a practitioner and guide on these journeys, we can change our belief systems through the subconscious mind allowing for a true journey to spiritually awaken and enlighten oneself.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe to be successful means being self-aware and self-disciplined. I consider myself a healer, and most healers I know have some of the toughest life paths which have required more healing than the average person. We are the ones who can truly relate to most of our clients and have worked non-stop to reach our goals, we have broken cycles, overcame obstacles, and found the inner strength to push through. Having my own practice requires more self-discipline than ever before. I set my schedule, decide my goals, and have an endless to-do list that must be managed by only me. Being able to call yourself out when you aren’t taking care of you or your responsibilities requires a certain level of self-awareness.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I absolutely love Ted talks. Anytime I am feeling unmotivated in business, I go to YouTube and look up Ted talks. I choose one or two that spark my interest and listen. They are only a few minutes long but enough to shift my energy and mind back into a positive and motivated way of thinking and help get me through the day.
