We recently connected with Jessica Zavala Peric and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jessica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Talofa Boutique was built after losing my grandma. I’ve always wanted to make my grandma proud and I pray that she’s smiling in heaven. “Talofa” means “Hello” in Samoan. My grandma was born and raised in American Samoa. The boutique is in honor of her and it’s a dream I’ve always had since I was a little girl.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Everyone who shops with me or just shares anything about my boutique is much appreciated. My main goal is to provide a great customer experience and serve customers with love. I’m in the works of adding new homemade products and I currently sell beauty items. At Talofa Boutique we have makeup, hair tools/accessories, clothing and much more. I love hosting events for men & women from empowerment to health and wellness.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I love connecting with my customers by email and instagram. I send out monthly newsletters so my customers can stay up to date with everything Talofa Boutique has going on and future events.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
My business is my baby and my joy but I still work for another company full time. When I’m not working on my boutique I’m teaching people self control. I facilitate Anger Management, Parenting & Domestic Violence Classes. My future goal is to work my boutique full time but I’m still trying to grow. I will not give up, even though I feel like it sometimes. My children are my reason why and they keep me going with my business.
