We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica Wolf a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jessica, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
One of the biggest issues I have encountered way before I started in real estate is the fact that kids growing up have no idea where to seek answers on how to buy a house, what steps you need to fulfill in order to obtain a loan, credit scores, taxes, etc. I really believe the school system needs to implement better options and avenues for students to understand how crucial these items are in life. There should be mandatory classes on credit/money managing courses – students should get out of public/private schools with a better understanding on how to steer their future. They do not prepare you for the life ahead of you, and so many students and fresh graduates have trouble saving money and even paying their daily bills. Schools need to be teaching students how to react in practical situations.

I take everyday as an opportunity to get in front of my followers. The power that social media has created is really beyond words. I am able to showcase my listings, lifestyle, dining options, hobbies, etc. This in turn helps my business, where I have had prospects from other countries, or states reach out that they would like to invest in the US- which down the road turn into repeat clients and referrals. I have helped numerous people all with the touch of a button off my phone, its rather remarkable if you think about it… My advice to those starting off is to be consistent and be yourself on these platforms. You will attract those who mesh well with you and your business tactics when you are genuine and not posing as something you are not.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
To be honest, my best source for new clients is staying social. I get most of my clients from within my sphere of influence, but also just from starting a casual conversation while being out at an event, parks, happy hour, dinners, day time social gatherings etc.- what works for me is being present. I also think its important to give back and get involved in your community- this is a great way to meet new people, causes, fundraisers, learn about what is trending in new to cities, laws coming into play, etc Real estate is a “touch sport” with that said the more people you reach out to, the more your business will multiply and grow.
