We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jessica Wagner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jessica below.
Jessica, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I started my journey in social media marketing in 2010—the same year Instagram was born. At the time, I was promoting cooking classes for a local kitchen store. I wore many hats: teaching classes, sourcing chefs, creating marketing materials, and promoting the classes on Facebook, and eventually, Instagram.
In 2012, a former colleague reached out with an opportunity to market an iPhone case that featured a card carrier and a real mirror. The product was released in Pantone colors, and he wanted to target the fashion industry—an area I had experience in. This became my first true product launch, where I was responsible for marketing and sales. While the company ultimately folded due to challenges keeping up with iPhone model changes and demand, it was an invaluable learning experience.
From there, I began working for my landlord, who owned the two most prestigious restaurants in our small city. I quickly learned how to capture mouthwatering food photography, from gourmet burgers to truffle fries. With each new restaurant he opened, I became the go-to “social media girl,” managing their online presence.
As I neared graduation (very late, but better late than never!), I realized he wasn’t going to hire me full-time. I knew I needed to take control of my career. One day, I came across a Facebook ad for a social media marketing course—back when online courses weren’t riddled with scams. The price tag was $1,000, a big investment at the time, but I took the leap. It turned out to be the best decision I ever made.
Not only did the course teach me how to start a business, but it also provided contracts I still use today, along with valuable business resources. More importantly, it connected me with my first clients through the Facebook group that came with the course.
On July 1, 2015, I officially opened my virtual doors—and the rest is history.
Jessica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For folks who may not have read about you before, can you please tell our readers about yourself?
I’m Jessica, the founder of Jus B Media, a boutique digital marketing agency specializing in social media, website development, and influencer marketing. With over a decade of experience, I’ve built a business that helps brands grow their digital presence in a meaningful way. My passion lies in crafting strategic marketing solutions that not only build brand awareness but also drive real engagement and sales.
How did you get into your industry/business?
It all started with a background in cheerleading – I’ve always been good at rooting for other people. At the same time, I was fascinated by the power of social media and websites to connect businesses with their audiences. What began as an idea that I saw no one else doing, social media marketing quickly turned into a full-scale business. I realized that many small businesses—especially in the food manufacturing and B2B industries—struggled to navigate the digital world. Seeing an opportunity to bridge that gap, I founded Jus B Media.
What type of products/services/creative works do you provide?
We offer a full suite of digital marketing services, including:
• Social Media Management – From content creation to strategy and community engagement
• Website Development & Optimization – Building and maintaining websites that convert
• Influencer Marketing – Connecting brands with the right influencers to expand their reach
• Brand Strategy & Consulting – Helping businesses clarify their messaging and positioning
• E-commerce & Digital Growth Solutions – For brands looking to scale their online presence
What problems do you solve for your clients?
Many businesses struggle with digital visibility, audience engagement, and keeping up with ever-changing social media trends. I help clients cut through the noise, develop a strong brand voice, and implement marketing strategies that drive real results. Whether it’s increasing sales, building an online community, or creating a standout digital presence, Jus B Media is all about helping businesses thrive.
What do you think sets you apart from others?

I take a hands-on, personalized approach to every project, ensuring that strategies align with the brand’s goals and audience. Plus, our expertise in influencer marketing and food manufacturing makes us a go-to for brands in these industries looking to make an impact.
What are you most proud of?
I’m incredibly proud of reaching Jus B Media’s 10-year milestone! Building this business from the ground up and seeing the impact we’ve had on our clients’ growth is incredibly rewarding. I’m also proud of our ability to evolve—adapting to digital trends, expanding our services, and continuously providing value to the brands we work with.
What are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you and your brand?
Jus B Media is all about strategy, creativity, and results. We’re here to help businesses grow their online presence with smart, effective digital marketing. Whether you’re a small business looking to gain traction or an established brand wanting to level up, we’ve got the expertise to make it happen.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best way to build connections, hands down, is through in-person networking—taking the time to meet for coffee, lunch, or even a glass of wine to truly get to know people. Networking played a huge role in my career, leading me to become the social media guru for Women’s Journal Magazine during its print days and later the chapter president of FemCity Medina County (formerly FemCity Akron).
Holding leadership roles in networking organizations has opened doors to countless opportunities and contributed significantly to my success. I highly recommend investing in genuine, face-to-face connections—they can be game-changers.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
In the early days of Jus B Media, many clients handed over their social media without much thought—they were just relieved to have it “off their plate.” I’d meet with them every three to six months for contract renewals, and that was the extent of our engagement.
Over time, I realized the importance of keeping clients informed and involved. Now, I send monthly reports detailing their growth, along with insights on how external factors may have influenced their numbers. I also prioritize regular check-ins, meeting virtually or in person each quarter to discuss strategy and goals. For some clients, we connect even more frequently—bi-weekly or monthly—to ensure their social media efforts stay aligned with their business objectives.
This consistent communication not only keeps clients engaged but also reassures them that their digital marketing is in good hands, fostering strong brand loyalty. To further reward and grow our community, I offer $50 in free social media ads to any client who refers us to a friend in need of digital marketing support.
