Jessica, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Embarking on a journey that spanned over 20 years in media, marketing, and advertising, my life took an unexpected turn in my mid-thirties with the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Initially, I was reticent about sharing this personal struggle, fearing labels and misplaced sympathy.
As I confronted the evolving symptoms, I recognized the imperative to take control of my life and health. Delving into the vast realm of nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle changes, I encountered a saturated market that lacked a clear path forward. Undeterred by the challenges, I made the decision to become a certified nutritionist, a pivotal step in equipping myself with the knowledge needed to navigate this uncharted territory.
Amidst this journey, I also embraced the role of a certified happiness coach, adding another layer to my ability to support others on their paths to well-being. The positive transformations I experienced through lifestyle changes prompted me to gradually open up about my own journey, starting with a small circle of friends.
This newfound openness and connection became the cornerstone of Being a Healthy Unicorn—a platform where I leveraged my MS diagnosis to empower others facing similar health and autoimmune challenges. Balancing part-time nutrition work with certifications in weight loss, stress management, and self-care, I embarked on a holistic approach to well-being.
A few years ago, I took a bold step, leaving behind the security of a corporate job to fully embrace entrepreneurship. This marked a significant chapter in my life, where I not only managed multiple businesses but also took charge of my own future. It was a transition from a career where I worked for someone else to building my unique path.
This journey, fueled by a commitment to self-love and a positive mindset, satisfies my need for connection and support. Moreover, it allows me to make a profound impact on the community, showcasing the transformative power of resilience, adaptability, and the unwavering pursuit of well-being.

After experiencing the challenges personally with navigating and advocating for myself in the medical spaced, I realized that in crafting custom plans for my clients, I draw inspiration from the five foundations of wellness—nutrition, mindset, self-care, stress management, and self-love. These pillars serve as the bedrock of personalized strategies that empower individuals to take control of their lives and embark on a transformative journey towards well-being.
**1. Nutrition:** Recognizing the profound impact of food on overall health, I focus on creating tailored nutrition plans that suit individual needs. Whether it’s addressing specific dietary requirements or enhancing gut health, the nutrition foundation becomes a cornerstone for sustained well-being.
**2. Mindset:** Harnessing the power of mindset is crucial in navigating health challenges. I work with clients to cultivate a positive and resilient outlook, helping them overcome obstacles and embrace the journey towards better health with optimism and determination.
**3. Self-Care:** Self-care is a non-negotiable aspect of well-being. I assist clients in developing personalized self-care routines that align with their lifestyles. From adequate rest to nurturing activities that bring joy, these practices contribute to a holistic approach to health.

How’d you meet your business partner?
This is a fun story! We met in college! We both took marketing and advertising and worked in that industry for many years. Both of us developed health challenges that caused to look at different options for work. We reconnected years later and started working at building a few businesses together based on our passions and experiences.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I do use social media to create awareness of our brands, but I really believe in building a strong database through email or CRM to ensure you can build trust with your clients. I use this to share valuable content, create credibility and trust, and become a resource for others to go to when they need help.
