Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessica Sanchez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jessica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Jessica Karla, founder and owner of Celfie Ready. Celfie Ready is clothing boutique and glam bar located in
Fresno, CA.
Growing up I always knew I wanted to be either a model, fashion designer or both. I went through the spirals of life and ended up working in the medical field for 7 years. In late 2018 I decided it was time to execute the idea owning my very own clothing store. I brought my love for makeup and fashion together and came up with Celfie Ready. In 2020 I had my first website launch. All my marketing was and still is done primarily on Instagram. I would also travel to various cities to expand my network at set up at pop up events. A couple of times I set up at our local flea market.
In July-August 2021, I began organizing Instagram Live Sales! Nervous, sweaty palms, and a huge love for my business, I went all in. To my surprise that’s what my small business needed at the time. I had hit the next level of my business. August 2022 I was able to open my very first location, under 400 sq. ft. and July 2023 relocated to a bigger location 800 sq. ft.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Celfie Ready offers in-store appointments for all your glam needs. Quinceaneras, proms, formal, casual bridal makeup, just because and so much more! Our primary focus is most definitely clothes. I am not exactly a size 0, nor a size 7, lol, so I must say being a mom, professional, and a size large (8/10); has most definitely been a huge part of my continued success. Being myself, getting up and getting ready for work, posting how and what I wear for work, followed by an outfit change for happy hour or dinner with my family, etc. It’s been more than just work, it’s being an inspiration to others, and staying inspired.
Organization is huge! It has helped me as a business owner stay on task and disciplined. Checklists are great way to stay on track and feel accomplished at the end of the day. Personally a home checklist and a work checklist is best; and always knowing that not everything may get done or that your day may get thrown off unexpectedly.
Women are super stars, feel like one, dress like one, and glam up like one! Need help? Here at Celfie Ready, it’s a one stop shop!
How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
Celfie Ready has a website you can shop 24/7. www.celfieready.co. It’s a great way to have customers buy your items at their convenience. Ecommerce sites also come with the ease of collecting and sending emails to alert customers of new arrivals, sales, or events. I still resort back to Instagram to build momentum and hype for my products.
Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
This is an exclusive for CanvaRebel! lol Celfie Ready will soon be launching a lash/cosmetics vending machine alongside a photobooth. This will allow us to expand our network and give new customers a taste of who Celfie Ready is! We currently offer lashes and other accessories like lash glue, lash applicators, gems in-store.
