We recently connected with Jessica Martinez and have shared our conversation below.
Jessica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
We have been in the construction and design business for some time, but we wanted to venture out and try something new. Around this time there was tennet that was using some land to grow his own produce. We were inspired with what he was doing and wanted to become more knowledgable in growing our own food without the use of pesticides. With this we were inspired to create the farm.
I am passionate about wellness and healthy living so I knew that this endeavor would be worthwhile. The idea of being able to create a cleaner earth and building a better tomorrow for my two girls is what got me most excited.
Jessica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Jessica Martinez, I am a wife and mom to two little girls before anything.
I grew up now knowing too much about wellness and healthy eating habits, and now that I am older I am always looking for products that have cleaner ingredients not just for me but also for my family. This interest in organic/clean eating inspired me to learn more about growing our own produce without the use of pesticides. With the help of a past tenet that also inspired us to grow our own food, I decided to start the journey of creating the farm.
The farm is an operating organic farm. We sell fruits and vegetables that are grown without pesticides. We offer experiences where guests are able to join us to pick their own products such as our bananas, Caña, yuca, and more. Along side the farm experience we also have organic juices, smoothies, and other organic snacks that are available for guests to enjoy. What sets us apart from others is that we stick to our beliefs on clean farming and providing products with the cleanest ingredients we possibly can.
I’m the most proud of how we have been able to give back to the community, and partner up with other amazing businesses to do great things for others.
We are passionate and we believe in what we are doing, farming organically and only selling food and products that we believe in and align with out values. I don’t feel comfortable selling products that I wouldn’t allow into my own home, which is why the products that we sell are products that I would personally allow my family to consume,
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Having a presence on social media and at community events has been an important part of growing our audience. Social media has allowed us to show case what the farm has to offer and also connect with families within our community virtually, participating in community events has allowed us to connect with member of our community in person.
How did you build your audience on social media?
The first advice that I would give is to create a brand kit, this includes a logo, brand colors, and fonts. This will allow you to always have something to reference to when creating graphics and creating content and will allow you to become recognizable. A brand kit is the most important when starting out because it will set the tone for your social media presence and will allow you to stay consistent across multiple platforms.
