We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica Jamison a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica , thanks for joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
What made me want to start my business was me having lymphedema and was not have sucess with pain meds. So i started baking for friends. Then i decided to get legal. First i created my name and LLC. Getting all your paperwork in order is very important especially in my business. Once i had all the legal things out there. I started my social media presence and starting doing pop ups and events

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Jessica also known as Jessica Loves Edibles. I’m a single mother that loves to bake and make edibles. I have a non curable condition called lymphedema. I use to take 100 pain meds a month. I decided wasn’t for me. I started baking with Thc six years ago. My business has grown so much in six years. I love helping people with their needs. It’s not about the money. I give products away just to help. I love doing event and hosting events from my Sunday Brunch’s i did or paint and puffs. I love cooking. I specialize in enhanced gumbos, pastas, drinks, snacks and breakfast items. I am also vegan over 6 years but cook meat for events. My goal is to open a food truck to take my talents around.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I fund my business solo. I never used investors or anything. Since day one Jessica Loves Edibles is a solo team. I make everyone homemade. I find it easier for the most part. The one time I was going try doing the partner thing definitely didnt work out. Been working all these years. Never know what the future holds but i love what i do solo.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn that everyone is not suppose to be apart of your journey in business. I learned that all support aint good support. Most are out to see what they can get from you instead of truly trying to teach you or giving knowledge
