We recently connected with Jessica Jaimes and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica , thanks for joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I initially started my business just making car accessories (car charms/ car coasters). It all started because I was tired of seeing an ugly basic black tree hanging from my rear view mirror. I am a BIG Houston Sports fanatic so I decided to make an Astros Car Charm and a matching Astros car coaster set. I took a picture to share with my Astros loving family and that soon turned to 5 orders. That soon led to custom orders- and just like that HTXcraftss began. My research to find better materials/ designs has always been a big factor because I am never satisfied. I’m always looking for ways to make it better someway shape/form, always striving to have the cutest & trendiest designs.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was born & raised in Houston! Grew up loving all sports. Started all of this as a hobby… simply just making these things for myself and my family. Slowly adding more to our inventory. I am a mama to 3 crazy kids & constantly running around so luckily I have my hubby who goes along with all of my crazy/ wild ideas who helps me with everything. A year into my business I added a multipurpose printer (sticker sales were keeping BUSY so I needed help & being able to print my own t-shirt decals helped out A MILLION) & then shortly after added a laser.. adding: laser engraving, acrylic/wood work. It’s been a JOURNEY… every day we learn something new. I am so dedicated to making this into something so much greater than what it is, so I’m very optimistic of what the future holds for us.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Be as humanely ACTIVE as possible… whether that’s posting everyday, adding stories to your timeline, liking/ commenting on others posts. Celebrate every milestone, no matter how big or small. Do giveaways because who doesn’t love free things. Just let your presence be known as much as possible.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Public presence. I started attending local popups about a year ago and that’s when my business took off. I started interacting more with other local vendors and making those connections. Soon after collabs started happening and attracting an even bigger crowd.
