We recently connected with Jessica Fender and Ashley Georges and have shared our conversation below.
Jessica and Ashley thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Our brand Exchange of Gems was birthed through a simple every day phone call between two best friends. Every time we spoke to each other we always tried to exchange valuable information or ideas that we learned that would be beneficial to each other whether for our businesses or just in our day to day lives. This is something that we had been doing for years, then finally one day we came up with the idea to share valuable information that we have learned from each other and from other entrepreneurs in different industries with the community. That’s how our very first event the Exchange of Gems Planner Party was created.
The Exchange of Gems Planner Party is a networking event for business owners and aspiring business owners. We wanted to do something different than the typical vision board party. So we decided to do a planner party where you can not only learn valuable information but start writing out your plans and goals for your businesses. If you attend one of our planner parties you will not only network with like minded individuals but you will also learn how how to properly structure your business, how to build business and personal credit, and how to execute and structure your estate through Wills and Trusts.
Jessica and Ashley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Jessica Fender, CEO of Beau Cosmetics and Beau Enterprise. I am also the Co Founder of Exchange of Gems. I am known for my various business ventures from owning my own beauty and health company, to being a business consultant and a marketing expert. I also have a tax, book keeping and credit education company. Out of all of my businesses Exchange of Gems has been the most lucrative one, not lucrative in terms of money but lucrative in the sense that we help a variety of people not just business’ owners. We help individuals learn about things that they may not get to hear about via social media or through a normal conversation. We educate people on finances, credit, living will benefits, building a trust for your assets and a plethora of other life changing information. In a way, Exchange of Gems is saving lives and educating the masses about how they can also be wealthy in abundance like others.
My name is Ashley Linda Georges and I am the Co Founder of Exchange of Gems. Out of all of the businesses that I have this one is the one that I am most passionate about. Over the years I have learned so much when it comes to consumer law, how to utilize your credit based on what you need, the importance of having life insurance, and how to maximize on your benefits. I think it’s so important for people to know and understand what it means to put their assets into a trust so they can control everything, because face it we don’t technically own anything.
When it comes to the future of Exchange of Gems, we can envision going on tour and educating the community about the importance of putting their assets in a trust and building a legacy for their family, which they will be thankful for and appreciate it for generations to come. We also have other events through out the year like our annual back to school drive and our annual Christmas toy drive.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
How did we meet, so funny enough we went to high school together, had mutual friends, and knew each other existed, but we didn’t become friends until 2011 when we both started working at a call center and we have been stuck like glue ever since.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Ashley: When it came to putting the event together and getting capital to fund our brand, I used a portion of the income from Mulan’s Secrets which is my adult toy line. I am also a professional tax preparer so a portion of that was used, along with working my full and part time jobs.
Jess: Although we are both entrepreneurs, we both work full time jobs. So in terms of putting together capital to fund our brand, I just pulled from my many streams of income so we could ensure that our event would be successful and worth the money that was spent not just from us but for each person that purchased a ticket and attended the event.
