We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jessica Faulkner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jessica below.
Alright, Jessica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Honestly, for me even now it’s still a learning process. When I fist started my creator journey, I didn’t have anyone i knew personally to ask for help with learning how to edit, film look for content ideas ect. So I had to learn on my own with the help of sweet baby Jesus and my husband, I just had to start and do the best I could. I am always trying to profect my skills, but today with help from friends, fellow creators and a husband that will buy me whatever I need for my business lol I have gotten a lot better.
Some tools that I personally can not run my business without are Canva, I have the professional version, you don’t have to get this one you will be just fine with the free one, I am just able to do more with that one and feel for me the investment is worth it. 2. My editing app. I use KineMaster, again I have the professional version, now this can be tricky if you use the free one, because it will leave a watermark on your content, but hey, do what you gotta do while you’re just starting out, I did. 3. LTK. This is a shopping app for ios and Android where anyone can shop their favorite content creators fashion, home finds, beauty and more. I honestly wish I had taken it more seriously when I first started because this has been such a blessing for me and my business as well as my following, and yes the money is so nice to be able to put back into my business.
I have been an LTK creator since late 2020 and it has been amazing. I am currently working to be able to attend the 2026 LTK con, which you can only attend by invite, and have to be one of LTKs top creators.

Jessica, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Jessica Faulkner and I am a full-time content creator, influencer, brand ambassador for a mixed use community and the face, creative director, editor and everything else in between of my brand The Glamorous Southern Belle.
I have been a content creator and influencer for about 4 years and is something that I am very passionate about. I am mainly building my social platforms, but I will eventually grow my brand to do other business things.
On my socials, I share with my following , all things pink and glamorous, southern lifestyle, fashion, beauty, baking, cocktails and hosting. I love going to beautiful and fun events, so I love taking my following along with me.
I also have a YouTube channel, The Glamorous Southern Belle, where I share these things, as well as shopping
hauls and blogs.
To follow along and shop my favorite fashion, beauty and more you can also find me on free LTK app, also under The Glamorous Southern Belle.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I would say my main goal for The Glamorous Southern Belle is to be a creator and influencer that women can go to for inspiration for southern hosting, to help them find great high and low fashion for any event, as well as new beauty trends.
I want to be your favorite pink, glamorous and southern lifestyle influencers that you and brands know they can look to for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
If you don’t read another word from this, please take this away..SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT REAL!
I feel that so many non-creatives look at influencers and have a very negative outlook on us for one reason or another. I have heard it all from “Why should influencers get paid?” “You should be happy that a brand is giving you free PR items, they don’t need to pay you also!” Or my personal favorite, “Influencers don’t even do anything to deserve to be paid, all they do is take pictures!”
While I can to some degree understand their frustration, I would also like for them to understand that yes, we do get paid for what we do, but this is our business! We work very, very hard on our brand, and even though you may not see some of us posting on social media every day, it doesn’t mean we are not working. I tell people, I as of now don’t have an agency, editor, or anyone else helping me. It’s just me, so I don’t work at 9 to 5, I work a when my eyes open to when my eyes close. Lol
I post on my LTK alot, last month I hit a goal of posting 300 shopable post, and plan on passing that in the month of November.
I hope that one day non-creatives can better understand our position, that we do love what we do, but at the end of the day this is our job. It’s no different than a 9 to 5 where you get paid and rewarded for your hard work, except most of us work around the clock, researching, what works for our following and what does not, cocktail and food recipes the new fashion trends, what lighting and new editing software to give us the best outcome that brands are looking for ect. And yes, unfortunately not evey creator is doing the right thing with their platform, but I feel the majority is, and they care about the community that have worked so very hard to build trust with.
Please remember, what creators share online is a highlight reel, so don’t ever compare yourself or make assumptions, because you never know what work someone is doing. Trust me the amount of times I stumble over my words just on basic stories, or I don’t feel like posting to any of my platforms would blow your mind! But you don’t see that, you just see the finished outcome. Lol
