We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica Chambers a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jessica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Starting my own business felt like a risk at first. It made me nervous, but this was a risk I knew was worth taking. I’ve always been passionate about health and fitness, so I knew that this was something I would enjoy despite the feelings of anxiousness. Knowing that I would be helping others transform their lives and adopt healthy habits brought me much joy.
Of course, starting a new business is never easy. There were some challenging times in the beginning as I adjusted to being my own boss. I no longer would be clocking in or having someone tell me what to do. Instead, I would be responsible for managing every aspect of my business and having a very organized schedule. But through hard work, determination, and the support of my amazing husband and family, I made it through those tough times, and now my business is thriving.
I love being able to help people achieve their health and fitness goals and see the changes that come with it. It’s rewarding to be able to impact someone’s life in such a positive way. I’ve been able to help so many enjoy a better quality of life and make changes in every aspect of their journey. My clients’ changes gave me an excitement I had never experienced in any other job.



Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As a teenager, I struggled with yo-yo dieting, always trying to find the best diet to lose weight. Comparing myself to others and thinking that I needed to be a certain weight and look a certain way caused many of these issues. As a result, I fluctuated in weight throughout my teen years up to my twenties. Sadly, I was never happy with what I saw in the mirror. Even though I would exercise, my eating habits were not the best because I didn’t know how to make good food choices. I would replace my meals with crackers, tuna, or cereal to feel skinnier. These habits led to other health issues.
As an adult, I decided to take control of my health and started doing tons of research. I found freedom through understanding macronutrients and our metabolism. As a result, I stopped depriving myself and developed a healthy relationship with food. I no longer view certain foods as good or bad.
The desire to help others learn everything I know now led me to become a Certified Nutrition Coach. I started Lift Healthy by Jess because I wanted to teach others to enjoy a healthy lifestyle while reaching their fitness goals. The fact that poor habits lead to unhealthy choices, which may be lifelong, motivated me to study Behavioral Change and become certified as a Behavioral Change Specialist. This would give me extra tools to help my clients at a deeper level. Since fitness is a huge part of living a healthy life, I also decided to get certified as a Personal Trainer. Proper nutrition and fitness have given my clients the best results.
Nowadays, there are so many fad diets that promise quick results. Sadly these quick fixes only lead to more health problems. With my 1:1 Coaching program, I teach others how to properly fuel their bodies (eating enough calories throughout the day) while still getting results. Many women avoid carbs and their favorite desserts because they want to lose weight, which usually leads to binge eating and other eating disorders. I teach my clients to incorporate their favorite foods while getting their desired results. This program gives my clients food freedom—no more yo-yo dieting, depriving themselves of carbs, or unhealthy food relationships.
Many of my clients come to me with the goal of losing fat and building muscle. I help them achieve this with proper nutrition and by creating a personalized workout routine focused on progressive overload. Everything they need is on the Lift Healthy By Jess App. As a result, my clients no longer feel lost as to what to do at the gym. Instead, they can follow their personalized workout routine on the app, which gives them video demonstrations on how to perform each move, including the number of sets and reps.
Through my coaching program, meeting with my clients weekly allows me to review their food choices, set weekly goals, go over their workout routine and progress, provide the accountability they need and teach them all things nutrition.
I aim to help as many reach their health and fitness goals sustainably, teaching them everything they need to achieve lasting results.


If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I’ve had the opportunity to work many different jobs. I spent most of my time in the medical field, working in mental health, which gave me tons of experience. But If I could go back, I would still choose what I do today! Helping people improve their quality of life through proper nutrition and fitness is incredibly rewarding.


We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Working in this field has taught me much about people’s behaviors. For example, I always thought people failed at reaching their health and fitness goals because they were inconsistent with their journey, lacked motivation, or didn’t want it bad enough. In reality, it has nothing to do with this. Some people want to make changes, but they don’t know how.
My observation is that people start by making huge, ambitious changes. Then, they give up when they feel they cannot keep up or commit to the change. I’ve learned the importance of setting small goals. When my client sees that they can crush that small goal, this gives them the desire and the fire to move up to the next challenge. Once they start seeing how amazing they feel with all the small changes, it becomes easier for them to adopt these habits for a lifetime.
