Jessica, appreciate you joining us today. Please tell us about starting your own firm and if you’d do anything different knowing what you know now.
Starting a lawyer referral service is an exhilarating journey that demands a lot of hard work and dedication to succeed in a fiercely competitive market. One key element of creating a legal firm is to have an unwavering focus on your goals and an unrelenting commitment to go above and beyond what others are doing. You can’t expect to achieve exceptional results by merely doing the bare minimum or following the status quo. Instead, you must be passionate about your business, consistently seeking ways to improve and innovate, which can often be challenging in and of itself.
This requires you to be prepared to work long hours and make personal sacrifices to ensure your business thrives. While I strongly advise against neglecting your health and relationships outside of work, a certain level of obsession and dedication is crucial to achieving extraordinary outcomes when starting a legal services business. For example, you may have to work late nights and weekends to meet deadlines or attend to client requests. You may have to brainstorm ideas with your team while on vacation or attend networking events on your days off.
Nevertheless, it is essential to maintain a healthy work-life balance whenever possible. As your business grows, you will need to delegate tasks and responsibilities to your team to focus on high-level strategy and leadership. To achieve this, you must train and empower your team to succeed and trust them to handle their roles with excellence. By delegating responsibilities, you can avoid burnout and allow yourself to focus on the long-term success of your business.

My name is Jessica Anvar! I am an attorney and entrepreneur from Los Angeles. As a lawyer, I’ve seen how difficult it can be for consumers to find good legal representation from experienced attorneys that they can trust, which is why LawLinq was born.

They are also in good standing with the State Bar and are required to stay up to date with their continuing legal education requirements.

Once matched with an attorney, they are provided with an initial consultation at no cost to them.

Any advice for managing a team?
