Jessenia, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?

My biggest hope is that JCsArtDesigns leaves a legacy of both connection and inspiration. I want to be known for creating beautiful, personalized signage that helps people celebrate life’s special moments, but even more than that, I want to build genuine relationships with my clients and be a part of their cherished memories. I believe in the power of community and supporting one another, and I hope my business reflects that. And on a personal level, I want my journey to show others, especially women and moms, that with passion and hard work, they can truly achieve their dreams.

For those just getting to know me and JCsArtDesigns, it’s a pleasure to connect! My name is Jessenia, and I’m the owner and creative force behind this little dream-come-true.

You might be surprised to learn that I actually come from the corporate finance world! Numbers were my game for quite a while. But then, like for so many people, COVID hit, and my world did a complete 180. It gave me a chance to pause and reflect on what truly mattered to me. And you know what? My lifelong passion for art came roaring back!

That love for creating has always been a part of me, ever since I was a kid. It’s in my blood, really – my family has a strong artistic background. So, I took a leap of faith and founded JCsArtDesigns. It’s been an incredible journey ever since.

At JCsArtDesigns, we specialize in custom event signage. Think vibrant, eye-catching pieces that bring your celebrations to life! We create everything from elegant wedding welcome signs and playful birthday banners to adorable baby shower décor and sophisticated corporate event displays.

What problems do we solve? Well, we take the stress out of making your events visually stunning! We help you create a cohesive look and feel, add those personalized touches, and ensure your guests feel welcomed and wowed.

What sets us apart? I pour my heart and soul into every single piece, treating each event as if it were my own. Plus, my clients tell me I have a knack for bringing their vision to life, even if they can’t quite put it into words themselves. And let’s be honest, my bright and bubbly personality makes the whole process a lot more fun!

I’m incredibly proud of the connections I’ve made with my clients. It’s an honor to be a part of their special moments and to see the joy our creations bring.

If there’s one thing I want potential clients and followers to know, it’s this: JCsArtDesigns is more than just pretty signs. It’s about celebrating life, creating memories, and adding a touch of sparkle to every occasion. So come join the party!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

When it comes to resilience, I think my story really begins when I was just 19. I made the incredibly difficult decision to leave home with practically nothing—no clear destination, barely any money, and a whole lot of uncertainty. It was terrifying, to be honest.

But something inside me knew I had to forge my own path. I was determined to create a better life for myself, even if it meant starting from scratch. Those early years were incredibly tough. I worked multiple jobs, struggled to make ends meet, and faced setbacks that would have made many people give up. But I refused. I learned to be resourceful, to hustle, and to never lose sight of my goals.

Looking back, I can see that those experiences shaped me in profound ways. They taught me the true meaning of resilience, the importance of hard work, and the power of believing in myself even when things were difficult. I’m proud to say that everything I have today is the result of my own efforts. No handouts, no shortcuts—just pure determination and a lot of sweat equity.

That’s why I believe ‘lucky’ isn’t the right word to describe my journey. I’ve seen the bottom, and I’ve clawed my way back up. Every step of the way, I’ve been driven by a deep desire to create a better future for myself and my family. And that drive continues to fuel me today.

So, when challenges arise in my business or in life, I draw strength from those early experiences. I know I can overcome anything because I’ve already faced so much. And that, I believe, is true resilience.”

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

If I could go back in time and give my younger self some advice, it would be to find a mentor sooner. I was so focused on figuring everything out on my own, and while that independent spirit got me pretty far, it also led to a lot of unnecessary struggles and wasted time.

It wasn’t until recently that I connected with a mentor who truly understands the ins and outs of the creative business world. She’s been an absolute game-changer! She’s helped me refine my strategies, avoid common pitfalls, and gain confidence in my decisions. I can’t help but think how much smoother my journey would have been if I’d had her guidance from the start.

So, to anyone starting their creative journey, my advice is this: don’t be afraid to seek out mentorship. Find someone who’s been there, done that, and can offer you valuable insights and support. It’s an investment that will pay off in spades.

Aside from mentorship, I wish I’d known more about the power of online communities and resources. There are so many amazing groups and platforms where creatives can connect, learn from each other, and find support. I’ve discovered some incredible resources just in the past few years that have helped me grow my business and expand my skills.

So, whether it’s finding a mentor, joining a community, or taking advantage of online courses and workshops, don’t underestimate the value of learning from others. It can make all the difference in your creative journey.
