We recently connected with Jesse Thomas and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesse, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
I have always been a creator since elementary school. I was always drawing and creating characters that I could think of everyday. After years past I was always looking to find different ways to create be an artist. When I first picked up a camera honestly I didn’t know I would be doing photography. Honestly i didn’t even like it. My first thought was I was gonna use this camera to create videos and skits. I told myself I would create art through videos and get really good at it so people would recognize what I create. After a few videos I was still feeling like I was still hungry to create more and more another way. Soon as I jus really went out and decided to play with my camera by taking photos. After I realized how amazing photography was even when I thought i would never do photography. I thought it would be boring really. But after I kept practicing and learning. It was so Interesting to me that I would find myself on YouTube University all through the night until 2 or 3 in the morning. I would also be up all night learning how to edit and learning different styles of editing. I was so determined to learn everything I needed about photography and the editing. That’s what I love about photography that it’s always something to lean and grow to get better and better each day from it. From photography I’ve made many friends and had plenty of people to notice my work and my love for it. Photography got me out of my shell from being really antisocial and I’ve learned to talk and communicate with people a lot better. The creative community has shown me a lot of love and respect and I thank my supporters for loving what I like to create.
Jesse, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into photography honestly by accident. Just playing around with my camera because like I said I was planning to do videos. Over the time with me learning how to edit and take pictures I developed and learned that I love taking photos and making my photos pop!! I like to incorporate colors into my photos because it has become more of my style. People tell me that my style is bold and vibrant. I like to story tell for clients or whoever I’m working with. I like my photos to speak to the people that runs across them. My inspiration are editorial photography and things like vogue fashion. I had found myself really getting shooting fashion a lot and making it bold and vibrant.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me it’s just connecting with other and brainstorming on ideas to bring a vision to life. For the people that have worked with me they know that I get excited about the brainstorming process because I have so many ideas flowing and can’t wait to create. Seeing what we create is a joy for me and I love the outcome from it.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal I have is to see my work in vogue magazines and billboards. I know I have what it takes to make it there that’s why I always push to get better and better.
