We were lucky to catch up with Jesse Schliebe recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jesse , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I am happy with my talents and as an artist/rapper/entrepreneur. I currently work a “regular job” as a crane inspector / private contractor and also wonder what it would be like for me to work solely as an artist and use my talents to pay my bills and provide for the family I am working towards. I thought about this recently Tuesday July 23rd driving home back to the sober living program I enrolled my self into & praying to God that he would elevate me out of the 9 to 5 grind despite making 1k a week. I’ve been completely clean and sober for 51 days and have completely turned my life around and am a house leader where I reside.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into the music industry August 5th 2022 thanks to my A&R Sin Crawford and Ken Willis (whom talent scouted me & 8 others) I signed my distribution deal with Sonys distribution label on my way to L.A for my 32nd birthday. I’ve been making music for the past 10 years and doing shows and have toured two times. I started a mental health clothing line on teespring.com in 2020 to help raise mental health awareness called MHM: link below ( https://mhm-mental-health-matters-2.creator-spring.com/ ) and have been maintaining my personal mental health with God’s help of course through therapy and the correct medication. What sets me apart from everyone else is I’m not in this for the money, I’m using my testimony as a case of grace and glory of God to show people that God exists and is very much so alive in all of us. I used to run the streets, sell drugs and do various drugs and was homeless and couch surfing from 16 years old about 32 years old. You can find me on every sound platform known to man woman and child. My artist / stage name is Jesaiah Rae. My ig is @Jesaiahrae_official and would love to hear from you!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the fulfillment of expressing one’s self and creating from pure and raw emotion. Creating is therapeutic and helps me in almost every way possible. It helps me mentally which helps me physically due to releasing stress and the pressure off my brain and body. Also creating music can help save people’s lives through sharing my experiences and letting others know they’re not alone.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
The Bible has helped me.shape alot of my mentality and the way I carry myself.
The 4 Agreements has taught me extremely freeing and liberating habits.
Learning about sound, vibration and frequency.
Watching interstellar, Lucy
Listening to Dizzy Wright, Logic, Tupac, The Pharcyde, Mick Jenkins, Tech N9ne, JL B Hood, NF & Marcus Rogers have all be an extreme help in my life.
Dizzy Wright’s “The Growing Process” & Logic’s “Everybody” and Mick Jenkin’s “The Healing Component” albums have helped DRASTICALLY.
Turning to Jesus has been thee most transforming experience of my life.
I’d also like to add that the love I’ve received from my friends and love from the woman I love by the name of Megan Terae has also helped transform my life.
Love: because you’re worth it.
