Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jesse London. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jesse thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The 8 Song Acoustic Covers EP on my website www.jessejams.com is by far one of the most meaningful ventures I’ve gone on. In the months leading up to recording, I spend a lot of time buying albums at Spin Records (Carlsbad) and just digging deep into my favorite artists. Some of the stuff on there I’ve wanted to do for a really long time, while others are more recent additions to my live set, that I wanted to record specifically for this album.

Jesse, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started singing and playing the guitar when I was about 7 years old. These days, I perform at all kinds of venues including restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and the occasional wedding. As long as I have guitar in my hands and a song to sing, I’m the happiest person in the world. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to share it with others and have so much fun in the process!
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Be kind and be honest. You may not always like what you see or hear, but there’s no reason to ever be a jerk, and there’s no reason to lie to anyone either. We’re all trying to do the same thing, really.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For a long time, I was bouncing from job to job and I felt very unhappy all the time. The only part of the day I enjoyed was when I would play my guitar after work, or when my band would play a show.
Nowadays, there’s no band, but I enjoy every minute of every day. Even when I get a little worked up about something, I know it’s all contributing to my vision. I’ve grown to love what I do more than I ever imagined possible.
