We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jesse La Flair. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jesse below.
Alright, Jesse thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I think about this question often because being an artist isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. It’s been over fifteen years since I worked a nine-to-five job, and my life has been a constant dance between risk and reward, creation and uncertainty. As a father of two, I’d be lying if I said I never wondered what it would be like to have a steady paycheck or a more predictable path. Those thoughts usually come late at night, in the quiet moments, like when I was sitting in my studio rehearsing an upcoming scene while the kids were finally asleep. Then bam, the oh so familiar uncertainty of this creative life crept in. What if I didn’t have to think about whether the next acting role or creative project would come through? What if I could just choose the safer, steadier path?
But as I sat there, I realized that a nine-to-five, while it might seem like the easier answer on paper, would take me away from everything I value most. It would pull me from my family, from the freedom to be present for my kids, and from the ability to pour my emotions, energy, and vision into my art and acting. And I know, deep down, that this life of creating and storytelling is where I’m meant to be. It’s not just a career—it’s a calling, a reflection of who I am.
Over the last fifteen-plus years, I’ve experienced incredible highs and devastating lows, but what has carried me through is a deep, unwavering faith that things will always turn around. I’ve learned that I am capable of anything, and I use my creativity not just to express myself but to solve problems and create opportunities. My creativity is my most powerful tool. It’s how I navigate the chaos and find meaning in the balance of light and dark.
I’ve always been someone willing to risk everything in the pursuit of all or nothing because I believe that’s the greatest gift I can offer—to myself, to my family, and to the world. It’s not about chasing success for its own sake; it’s about honoring who I am and showing my kids that it’s possible to live a life driven by passion, even when it’s hard. The highs wouldn’t shine as brightly without the lows, and the light wouldn’t exist without the dark. That balance is what gives life its depth, its meaning, and its beauty.
At the end of the day, the uncertainty, the struggle, and the faith that I’ll find my way are all part of this journey. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything, because this life of creating is how I make sense of the world and my place in it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Jesse La Flair, an actor, filmmaker, professional parkour athlete, and artist who has spent my whole life dedicated to creativity and passion. My journey into this world started with movement—competing as a professional parkour athlete on a global stage, performing stunts for Marvel films, and working in over 50 films, TV shows, and commercials. Along the way, I’ve honed my craft as an actor, focusing on bringing depth, authenticity, and energy to every role I play. Whether it’s an action-packed chase scene or a heartfelt moment on screen, I strive to make every performance resonate.
In addition to my work in film, I’ve built an online audience of over 2.3 million fans across my social media platforms by sharing creative content that documents my life, from intense parkour training to behind-the-scenes glimpses of my stunt and acting journey. My followers have come to know me as someone who isn’t afraid to push boundaries, take risks, and explore the balance between art and action.
This same passion for storytelling extends into my visual art. My work centers around what I call “sound paintings,” where I transform sound vibrations into visual art. Inspired by my background in fine arts, my sound paintings explore the balance of chaos and order, using materials like shimmering sandblasting beads, powdered pigments, and unique elements like crystals and gold. These pieces reflect my fascination with capturing energy in motion and translating it into something tangible and lasting.
What sets me apart is my ability to bring creativity and innovation to every project I take on, whether it’s through my acting, my stunts, or my art. I see every medium as a way to explore and express the human experience, and I’m proud of the way I’ve been able to share that with millions of people worldwide.
What I want people to know about me is that everything I create comes from a place of passion and a drive to connect. Whether I’m telling a story on screen, creating a piece of art, or inspiring someone through my content, my goal is always to leave an impact. I believe in embracing the highs and lows of life, trusting the process, and using creativity as a way to problem-solve and grow. That’s what keeps me moving forward, and it’s what I hope inspires others to do the same.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
A couple of years ago, I had a moment that made me rethink everything. It was four in the morning, and I was standing in a long, dark alley in Atlanta, Georgia, working on the set of Agatha, a new Marvel show, stunt doubling one of the lead actors. My job that night? To get hit by an oncoming car as I ran down the alley glancing backward while cameras rolled.
A harsh thought crept in, “What if this goes wrong? Any injury severe or not would take me away from playing with my son…” The thought was interrupted by the 1st ad calling out “Cameras Rolling” And the countdown began—three, two, one—ACTION! I took off running, fully immersed in the scene. In that moment, all thoughts had to disappear. To protect myself and perform at 100%, I couldn’t afford to think about anything else. Flow state kicked in, and I turned back feeling the speed of the accelerating car lift me up and toss me over my head tapping my feet on the ground before letting my body land and roll right onto the specific end mark I needed to hit. But when the take was over and the set went quiet, laying there on the ground the questions I’d been suppressing crept back in: What am I doing? What am I risking? My son, River, was asleep three hours away at home, and the stakes suddenly felt bigger than just me. We ended up filming that car hit 4 times that night.
That night was a turning point for me. I realized I couldn’t keep putting myself in harm’s way forever, no matter how much I loved the craft of stunt performing. I had to pivot. I decided to focus fully on acting, where I could still tell powerful stories and channel my energy and creativity, but in a way that felt more sustainable for my family and me.
The transition wasn’t easy. I had to retrain, take acting classes, and reframe how I was seen in the industry—not as a stuntman, but as a serious actor. It was vulnerable and challenging, but I trusted my creativity to guide me through. I leaned into the connection I had with my audience of over 2.3 million fans, sharing the ups and downs of this new chapter. I wanted them to see what it means to bet on yourself, to embrace the uncertainty and still push forward.
That night in the alley wasn’t a moment of stepping away from stunts; it was a moment of stepping into the next layer of who I am. Believing in myself and honoring what I am fully capable of. I’ve learned that you don’t have to give up one thing to embrace another. Instead, it’s about balancing the chaos and beauty of life, trusting your instincts, and continuing to grow. Today, I’m proud to be pursuing acting roles that challenge me, while still bringing the physicality and discipline of my stunt work to every project.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
As I’ve grown in my career, my mission has become clearer: I want to inspire others to embrace their passions, take risks, and trust in their own creativity. I’ve built my life around chasing dreams that often felt impossible, and I want to show that with persistence, resilience, and a willingness to evolve, you can carve out a path that’s uniquely yours.
At the heart of my journey is also my role as a father. My kids, River and Rowan, inspire me every day to be a better version of myself. They remind me why I do what I do—not just to provide for them, but to show them that it’s possible to live a life filled with purpose and passion.
Ultimately, my mission is to leave something behind that matters—a body of work that captures the chaos, beauty, and complexity of life, and a legacy that inspires others to take their own leaps of faith.
