Jesse, appreciate you joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
One of the most meaningful ways my husband and I show appreciation is by sharing a piece of what we love most — crystals. When we’re out together, whether we’re enjoying a meal, attending a local event, or just engaging with people in our community, we often leave a crystal with the individual we’ve connected with. Sometimes we choose it based on their energy and vibe in the moment; other times, it’s selected for the metaphysical properties we feel they may need in their life. It’s a small gesture, but it’s deeply personal and unexpected, and it often leaves people feeling seen, valued, and uplifted.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been drawn to crystals and stones since I was young — our first home was previously owned by a gemologist, and our backyard was filled with large amethyst clusters. As I grew older, I began exploring the metaphysical side of crystals, and around that time, I met my husband and co-owner of Kuter Krystals, Trenton, who has always been passionate about vibrational work. What started as a shared hobby quickly grew into a dream: opening a crystal shop where we could offer high-quality, affordable pieces sourced from all over the world.
At Kuter Krystals, we offer polished and raw stones, rings, necklaces, specimens, mystery boxes, element bags, and more. Beyond providing beautiful crystals, we love helping our customers curate the vibe of their spaces, find stones that feel “missing,” or simply add a meaningful piece to their collection. What sets us apart is our dedication to fairness, inclusivity, and accessibility — we are Black and queer-owned, ship anywhere in the U.S., and participate in vendor events throughout Tennessee and Kentucky year-round.
What I’m most proud of is the opportunity to share my love of crystals with our community and provide options for anyone seeking to connect with or purchase crystals. Above all, we want potential clients and followers to know that Kuter Krystals is a space that celebrates diversity and inclusivity, supports women, minorities, queer, and Black-owned businesses, and strives to create a welcoming, empowering experience for everyone who visits or interacts with us.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been building genuine relationships within our community. By attending vendor events across Tennessee and Kentucky, participating in local charities, and collaborating with other small businesses, we create meaningful connections that go beyond transactions. Sharing our knowledge, offering guidance on crystals and energy work, and fostering an inclusive, welcoming space has helped us earn trust and build a loyal, growing customer base.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
We keep in touch and build brand loyalty by engaging with our community on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and our Whatnot store. By sharing new arrivals, tips, and behind-the-scenes content, responding personally to questions, and staying involved in vendor events and local initiatives, we create a welcoming and supportive experience that keeps clients coming back.
