Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jesse Foreman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jesse , appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
The most important lesson I’ve learned in business and life is to get a little better everyday and to embrace failure. So many successful people have written and spoke on the importance of embracing failure, so it’s something I’ve always prepared for. In my industry I see a lot of amazing athletes who are in their prime and incredible at their profession, fail because of their mental state. The term you hear a lot in sports in yips. The reality is this effects a lot of professionals in business and people in life in general. We all fail and I’m sure we’ve all heard the expression that there is lessons in our failures. This expression is true, but sometimes the bigger issue is just moving on from the failure. Getting back up when you get knocked down is one of the hardest things to do in life. So I have always focused on getting a little better everyday. You can’t control everything in life and often things don’t go as planned, but you can control your growth. So I tell everyone to focus on growing a little physically, mentally, and spiritually everyday. Everyday I try meditate, workout, and read. Sometimes it’s for hours and sometimes just for minutes, but making the habit of it is the key. So when you do inevitable fail, it’s no longer the question of what now. The biggest issue I’ve seen is people have huge goals and when something doesn’t go right they start getting in their own minds. When you know things aren’t likely fail and focus on just the small daily growths, it adds up to big results.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a NFL agent for Young Money APAA Sports and the Co-Founder of Young Money APAA Kingdom NFTs. A lot of my family has had legal troubles and I was the second in my family to graduate high school. I was never good in school growing up and focused more on sports and business ideas. When I figured out I wanted to be an agent I focused more on school and became the first in my family to graduate college. I then went on to get my JD from University of Cincinnati. After law school I started a sports agent called Global Sports and Entertainment (GSE) with my business partner Bek. I’ve been an NFL agent for almost a decade and have represented draft picks, super bowl winners, and veterans on their third NFL contract. I currently work for Young Money APAA and we represent several clients in the NFL.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I am always honest to clients and I stay ahead of new trends and technology. I was one of the first agents to focused heavily on social media growth and using the platforms for recruitment. I was also one of the earliest adaptors of NFTs in the sports agent community.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
In my first year I was recruiting a lot of D2 and D3 athletes and they kept asking how many clients I had. At the time I has just graduated law school and just was NFLPA Certified so I didn’t have any clients. When I told them this no D2 or D3 athlete signed with me. When it came to recruiting D1 athletes I was a little worried I wasn’t going to get any clients my first year. One of the players I was recruiting I talked to for a long time and built a good report. When it came time where he could sign he asked me how many athletes I represented. When I told him none, because I was new, he said he was going to go with an agent who had more clients. When I asked why he said, “More clients means a better agent.” I responded how many albums did Tupac have before he died, he said 4. I said how about Biggie, he said 2. I said how many does Tyga have now, he said I think 12. I said to him, so Tyga is better than Tupac and Biggie? He eneded up being the first client I signed.
