We were lucky to catch up with Jesse Figueroa recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jesse, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?

My hero is my “Father” , the man I am today it’s thanks to him I learned from him in so many different ways. Whether it’s watching him handle and deal with situations on a personal or business level and overcome, to driving thousands of miles with him in his semi’s and getting mentored in a industry that was both of ours passion and through that it developed a unbreakable bond that till this day I hold real close to my heart. He taught me discipline, consistency, be a gentlemen, a provider for the household, he taught me the continuous process on being the best version myself. I will never forget these words he said “ your going to remember in certain things you will encounter you will remember pops was always right”, and I tell you what he was never wrong because being in the Logistics and Trucking industry I’ve caught myself “Pops was Right”!

Jesse, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a Carrier/Freight Broker out of Orlando Florida that is Owner Operator driven we specialize in the Bulk Industry hauling various commodities such as Dry bulk, Aggregates, Waste, Scrap metal, Fertilizer, Feed are to name a few that we haul on different types of specialized trailers like Walking floors, Belt trailers,Tankers, Pnematics, End dumps and Tri – Axle dump trucks. We also do Flatbed and Step deck freight as well when it starts to slow down a little in the bulk side of things, so what we haul on our Flatbeds and Step decks is different types of machinery, building supplies, cinder blocks, lumber, steel, anything that I can put on that type of trailer ships!!

The reason I’m so passionate about this industry and so driven to deliver nothing but the best that I can with all my abilities is because this is something that has been passed down from my Great Grandfather, Grandfather, Father and Uncles so this is a lifestyle to me they taught me many values and ways to manage in this business to stay for the long term role and I cannot let all this mentorship go to waste that is why this is my obsession.

So we provide Freight Broker services to our Preferred Carriers that we source including our own trucks because we are a Carrier as well as a Freight Brokerage so providing the best product with good rates for both parties Shipper and Carrier is what we strive and do on a daily basis. Every Shipper has its issues and quirks that always need to be figured out that’s where we come in and create tailored strategies and structures to support the customers logistic needs with capacity for their volume. With our Owner Operators that lease on to us many come not understanding there cost and where their rates need to be at we clarify all that for them and build them a strategy to be the successful business owner that they wanted and intended to be. Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Well my name is Jesse Figueroa I am a Florida native Born and raised in Pinehills West Orlando Florida area I am currently 31 years old and permanently confined to a wheelchair until either God does his miracle in me where there is a science breakthrough for paralysis. So you may ask yourself how did I get into this wheelchair? Well May 31, 2016 I went to purchase a beer at a gas station and as I was closing my door of my pick up truck after purchasing the item my door slipped out of my hand and tapped the guys car who has shot me in my face Close Range because of tapping my door on his car. And that’s when my journey as a incomplete Quadriplegic begun of progressive healing!!So after being discharged from the hospital my first year I completely disconnected from all social media platforms and just went to reading a lot of books and watched a lot of YouTube motivational videos so I can reinvent myself and find the new me! Since my lifestyle has always been Trucking and Logistics all my life because it’s been passed down from generation’s in my family I had to get back into this industry somehow. But God had a different plan for me before I get rewarded with my childhood dream of owning my own trucking company. So with that being said I started going to this rehab center and I always observed the clients that would come get a tour of the facility but for some reason they never came back. So I got curious and I asked the manager why they never came back and she told me because they can’t afford it, so I remember one of the books I read was about opening nonprofit’s so what did I do? Started my own nonprofit called Stanced On Paralysis and started serving one of my callings God left me with life for and serving that purpose is so fulfilling to your mind, body and soul!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

In the market we are in, What has helped us build our reputation is “Over” delivering on our services that we provide because the “Relationship” is more important than the rates. That to me is what’s going to keep you in business in whatever industry you are in, is the service and asset you will be.
