We recently connected with Jess Young and have shared our conversation below.
Jess , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy is one of compassion, courage, and impact. I want people to remember me not just for the businesses I built, but for how those businesses served others—whether through empowering clients to feel confident in their own skin at SkinCo, or through saving and supporting countless animals and families through Wags to Wishes.
Most importantly, I want my daughter to inherit more than just stories about what I created—I want to set her up with the foundation to continue the work I’ve started. My dream is to leave her not only a business, but also a nonprofit that she can step into and grow, using them as tools to change the world in her own way.
If people say I was someone who turned my struggles into strength, who gave back generously, and who left a blueprint for both my daughter and my community to keep building on, then I’ll know I’ve done what I was meant to do.

Jess , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Jessica Young, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I don’t just build businesses—I build passion projects with purpose.
I started in aesthetics because I wanted people to feel confident in their skin, inside and out. That dream became SkinCo, my med spa in Naples, where we mix medical-grade results with Amalfi Coast vibes (think glowing skin meets “Blue Zone” lifestyle). My clients know they’re not just getting treatments—they’re getting a space where they feel safe, seen, and maybe even a little spoiled.
But I’m not a one-lane kind of girl. My love for animals pushed me to launch Wags to Wishes, a nonprofit that turns fundraising into full-blown community events—like Puppy Prom, Paws & Pints, and Howl-O-Ween. They’re fun, creative, and impactful, all while keeping shelter pets with the families who love them.
Then came motherhood—and with it, my newest “baby,” NestGuard Babyproofing. Because let’s be real, babies have a way of finding every corner, cabinet, and pool you thought was safe. NestGuard was my way of turning that new-mom anxiety into something empowering: helping other families breathe easier knowing their homes are safe for their little ones.
So what ties it all together? For me, it’s simple: whether it’s skin, shelter pets, or safe homes—I build things that protect, empower, and uplift. And I do it with heart, creativity, and purpose every step of the way.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I first started building my social media presence, I had no grand strategy—I just showed up authentically. I shared my journey as an esthetician, a new mom, and an entrepreneur, letting people see both the polished results and the messy middle. That honesty resonated. Clients connected not just with my services, but with me—my story, my heart for animals, and my behind-the-scenes as a business owner and mom.
Over time, I leaned into consistency and storytelling. Instead of trying to “sell” every post, I focused on building trust—educating about skincare, sharing updates from Wags to Wishes events, or simply letting people into my life with my daughter and pets. That mix of value, vulnerability, and community-building is what grew my audience into something meaningful.
My biggest advice for anyone starting out is this: stop waiting for “perfect.” Start posting. People want to connect with real humans, not perfectly curated feeds. Consistency matters more than algorithms, and your story will always be more powerful than stock content. If you show up as yourself, serve your audience instead of just selling to them, and stay patient, you’ll build not just followers—but a true community.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think the biggest factors that helped me build my reputation are twofold: the results I deliver and my authenticity. In an industry where people can sometimes overpromise, I’ve always focused on creating real, visible, lasting results for my clients. When someone walks out of SkinCo glowing—not just on the outside but with more confidence on the inside—that’s what builds trust.
At the same time, I’ve never been afraid to show up as myself. Whether it’s on social media, at events, or in my treatment room, people know they’re getting the real me—no filters, no gimmicks. That authenticity has allowed me to form genuine connections, not just transactions. My clients feel like part of a community, and word-of-mouth from those relationships has been one of the most powerful ways my reputation has grown
