We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jerrell Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jerrell below.
Jerrell , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
To be successful and not be stuck in the corporate wheel

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello I’m Chef Jerrell from Miami Fl but mostly call me Chef Jay. I started cooking at the age of 16. Started my first official cooking job at the age of 19 at the Biltmore Hotel and haven’t looked at another career ever since. Fast forward a few years later and took a leap of faith and started my own business. It really did start off rocky but it was a real learning process. Had to figure out the differences in purchasing cooking time and quality. After many years of correcting and staying determined I combined The Chef Jay Experience/Brunch Boss. That is growing successfully!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I really had to unlearn was I can’t do it all by myself. It’s ok to ask for help or have assistance.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I used social media as one of my biggest platforms. Constantly posting food pics videos and much more daily. Using different hashtags that support your post and attract different crowds.
