We recently connected with Jermeshea Nichole and have shared our conversation below.
Jermeshea, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I would have most definitely started my career sooner rather than later! For example, back in 2016 -2018 I was picking up some extra roles gigs in STL and out of town. I came across Tyler’s Perry was looking for extras to be in his movie “Acrimony.” I was given the opportunity to be one of those extras to play as a wedding guest, but I didn’t take action to pursue that opportunity. Which i should have because I would have never known where I would be at today if I would have jumped on that opportunity.I would say if you are someone that is trying to get into the music industry, food industry, whatever kind of industry please take action now. I was the type of person that wouldn’t have confidence in myself and I really disliked that about myself. But, as of now I’m pushing my aggressively to perfect my craft and try to get to the top. There will always be challenges ahead but, I won’t let that stop me and you shouldn’t either! Keep going start ASAP ladies and gentlemen and boys and girls!

Jermeshea, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello, everyone my name is Jermeshea Nichole. Born & raised in Saint Louis MO. I went to Confluence Academy Old North and was in choir for 6 years. High school I went to Grand Center Arts Academy where I took up the music pathway, I was in concert choir and an all female a cappella group.I’ve been singing since I was 13 years old I didn’t take it seriously until 20 years old. I’ve done local gigs in the past and events out of town. Aside from singing I’ve done some local and out of town acting gigs to add to my resume and to be a little more diverse!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building my artist on social media has been a challenge. It has its ups and downs but, I constantly been adding different content on my social media to grow my fan base. I started YouTube maybe 11 years ago I was doing singing covers to popular songs at the time. I look back at them now and I can see the growth I’ve overcame throughout the years. As of today I’ve been growing my social media by add videos of things I love to do which is my makeup! I put out different makeup routines and even my long distance relationship at the time. Those two things have grown my fan base tremendously! I still have more to grow but, it will all happen organically.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I would say the most rewarding thing would have to be hearing the feedback from people about my songs I love hearing it! It’s a really good feeling when you take your time to get a good beat, write lyrics, go to a studio to record, then drop a song onto the internet. I would say another rewarding thing is being able to work with so many amazing people locally in STL and even people in different states. It’s always amazing to expand my work and to collaborate with people. I know I will have some more rewarding moments in the future and I’m excited for them!
