Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jermaine Saunders. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jermaine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
Being an artist often comes with a deep sense of purpose and the desire to leave a lasting legacy. As I embark on this creative journey, I contemplate the legacy I hope to build and the impact I aspire to make.
Ultimately, I hope to be remembered as an artist who challenged the status quo, encouraging people to view the world through a different lens. I want my work to provoke thought, inspire emotion, and ignite conversations about the complexities of our modern society and the ever-evolving landscapes we inhabit.
I aim to leave behind a legacy of artistic exploration, a testament to the power of imagination, and a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries. I want people to remember me as someone who fearlessly delved into the depths of societal narratives and who wove intricate illusions that transported viewers into the realm of their wildest imaginations.
In the end, I hope that when people think of my work, they recall the unique perspectives, the thought-provoking satire, and the way it challenged the norms of our time. If I can leave behind a body of work that continues to inspire, question, and engage, then I believe I will have achieved the legacy I aspire to build as an artist.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m an artist with a deep passion for creating thought-provoking and satirical artwork that delves into the intricacies of modern society. My journey into the world of art began with an innate curiosity and a desire to challenge conventional narratives. I’ve always been fascinated by the power of visual expression, and that fascination led me to study art and refine my skills over the years.
My primary focus is on crafting artwork that highlights the ever-changing dynamics of our landscapes and their manipulation in our culture. I find joy in skillfully amplifying specific formal elements deeply rooted in our society, which often go unnoticed. Through my creations, I aim to transport viewers into the realm of their wildest imaginations, away from the constraints of everyday reality.
The core of my work is to stimulate dialogue and inspire fresh perspectives. I believe in the importance of questioning societal norms and confronting preconceived notions. My art challenges these norms and encourages viewers to engage with the world in a different way.
What sets me apart from others is my dedication to satirizing mass media, coupled with my commitment to pushing the boundaries of spectacle. I take pride in my ability to create intricate illusions that resonate with audiences on a profound level. I’m not satisfied with presenting a straightforward reality; instead, I aim to create a world of exploration and imagination.
I’m most proud of the moments when my art has sparked conversations and encouraged individuals to think critically about the world around them. The main thing I’d like potential clients, followers, and fans to know about me and my work is that I’m deeply passionate about what I do. I’m committed to crafting art that challenges, inspires, and leaves a lasting impression. If you’re seeking unique, thought-provoking artwork that delves into the intricacies of society and offers a fresh perspective, I’m here to provide just that. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my brand.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
My view on NFTs is that they offer both exciting opportunities and significant challenges. On the positive side, NFTs provide a revolutionary way for artists and creators to gain control over their work, monetize digital art, and establish provenance. They have democratized access to art and collectibles, enabling a global audience to participate. However, there are concerns, too, including the environmental impact of blockchain networks, the speculative nature of NFT markets, and the need to address copyright and authenticity issues. Striking a balance between innovation and addressing these challenges will be crucial as the NFT space continues to evolve.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
In the early stages of my creative journey, resources were certainly limited compared to what is available today. Back then, the internet wasn’t the vast repository of knowledge that it is now. In those days, I often found myself longing for the wealth of tutorials, online courses, and communities that budding artists can access today with just a few clicks.
One of the challenges I encountered during my college years was that not all the instructors possessed an in-depth understanding of the subjects they were teaching. It was frustrating, especially when I sought guidance on more niche or specialized areas of art. In some cases, I felt like I had to navigate my creative path independently, seeking out books, magazines, and occasional workshops, but the range of resources was far more limited.
The advent of online platforms and communities dedicated to art has been a game-changer. Today’s artists can learn everything from foundational techniques to advanced skills online, with access to a plethora of tutorials, courses, and critiques from experts worldwide. The art world has truly become democratized, making it easier for aspiring artists to connect, learn, and grow their skills.
While I may have missed out on the convenience of today’s resources during my formative years, I’m thrilled to see the wealth of knowledge now available to emerging artists. It’s a testament to the ever-evolving and inclusive nature of the creative industry, and I’m excited to see how these resources continue to shape the next generation of artists.
