We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jeriel Sydney. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jeriel below.
Jeriel, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the decision of whether to donate a percentage of sales to an organization or cause – we’d love to hear the backstory of how you thought through this.
For every bar of soap purchased, a bar or other product is donated to a women’s shelter, crisis center, or environmental cause across the country.
The simple act of cleansing your body or hands can have a monumental impact on your mental health during times of uncertainty or traumatic experiences.
Our Buy.Give.Share. program gives us an opportunity to help others, and provide even a small moment of calm and self-love.
As a certified B-Corp, we strive to maintain higher standards for businesses in purpose, accountability, and transparency.

Jeriel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are a botanically-based wellness brand focused on ethical production standards to create a line of sustainable products for all people, targeting and addressing our customers’ ever-changing skin and lifestyle concerns.
Our product line was born from our daily practice of traditional rituals and studies in evidenced-based interventions to offer clean products made from potent and biocompatible ingredients while maintaining the highest quality.
Our founder, Jeriel, started FABLERUNE in Oakland California. She has a degree in women’s studies, is trained in aromatherapy and ayurvedic massage, and has a deep passion for community activism and enrichment.
Co-owner, Bobbie, is a licensed cosmetologist and trained esthetician, with a background in manufacturing and production workflow, and a focus on sustainability and renewable processes.
It wasn’t our intention to start a “beauty brand”; it grew naturally from the need for safe products I could use during my pregnancy. That became the catalyst for creating an authentic line of products free of contradicting information.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
We’re really proud to say that we are 100% self-funded. No judgment towards anyone who has investors, but as a family-run business… that was just never a goal of ours to take on debts and additional opinions. We’ve taken an attainable approach to growth and let it happen naturally through word-of-mouth. Every dollar we make goes back into making our business and products better for our employees and customers. We’re able to donate a substantial amount each year with our Buy.Give.Share program and we stay involved in our local community.
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
When we source ingredients, we only stock an amount that can be used in production within a short window since natural ingredients can have a very short shelf life. It’s important that our customers are getting the freshest batch possible. We source small, we produce small, and we’re constantly finding new resources for high quality ingredients. Everything at FABLERUNE is made in-house from start to finish, which is really rare these days. It’s definitely not the “easy” way but it’s the right way for us to maintain our standards and quality.
